Prescott will have to fight for his place as will all the other props. Excellent!
Not too sure about Mossop going to prop at his age. He copped some bad injuries playing back row and I think the front row is for later in his career.
Hock, if he does return will only come at about round 19 so he will not have match fitness at that stage.
O'Carroll has a lot to prove this year especially to get in the 17 ahead of those already there. Fielden, Coley, Lima and Prescott. Injuries may give him a chance but an injury to Eamon could spell trouble for him. Davies for a loan deal?
We appear to have competition for places all through the squad although I do think Prescott will be here long term.

It's what we've always said - tough competition seems to bring the best out of everyone.

And since Maguire has proved that he's willing to play those lads who impress, the 'other argument' - namely, that having a wealth of riches can be problem, because it means lads want to leave - will hopefully be minimised.

Anyone who wants to leave becasue he doesn't like competiton is not necessarily right for us anyway.

My family are placing bets on how long PP lasts in the first game before blood starts to course down his face. Anywhere between 10 seconds and 3 minutes are the current estimates.

It would have been an absolute waste for Piggy not to be able to capitalise on probably the best form and certainly the best finish of his career.
