| Not seen the info until today but some interesting things you may not know (NB This is for the 2009 season, 2010 season info won't be available until August/Sept 2011):
1. The cost of renting the DW last season was £189,932 - up from £177,613 in 2008, and is based on "match revenues"
2. We have a 25 year "renewable licence" to use the DW - not the 50 or 99 years previously thought.
3. We owe Dave Whelan £2m payable by the end of next month - start buying those season tickets now!
4. Lenegan has essentially loaned the club £1.17m. "Amounts owed to group undertakings - Lenagan Investments Ltd ( LIL) increased by £145,000 to £1,170,384. This loan is secured by a debenture, has no fixed repayment date and interest for the period has been waived."
5. Lenegan owns 89% of the club.

ROBINSON will charge more than that for a 1 bedroom terrace in Springfield.

Isn't that the price IL paid for the club including the Orrell training facility.

| Quote: Katrina "Why do we owe Whelan £2m?'" I'd imagine it's part/all of the original purchase price. Interesting that it is the club that owe it legally rather than Lenegan. Although given he is bankrolling some of the the current club debts, it's neither here or there really.

I remember stating this a couple of years ago, only for the thread to reach 15 pages of angry wiganers who didnt know how to search "companies house" in google saying I was lying.
The 25 years lease has been in the accounts for years.

Think it corresponds with the takeover by Lenegan - in which case we have 22 years left on the current lease.

It'll be interesting to see what kind of state Wigan Athletic are in, in 22 years time. I don't think they'll be on dictating terms when it comes to the stadium personally but we shall see.

They will be bust but so will a shedload of other football clubs if they carry on like they are! We are in a strong position at the moment and im looking forward to how things pan out over the next few seasons.

| Well done. You've probably sent at least half a dozen Latics men to bed happy tonight safe in the belief that they are a lot closer to getting shut than they previously thought.
Is there any other point to the post than this? The rest sounds pretty obvious to me.

Don't be silly, the numbers are tiny compared to the amount of money WAFC need to stay in the prem, and it shows IL is a master business man.

What's the problem with the info posted?
Seriously some people really need to let their Latics insecurities go. We've just won our first title in over a decade, we're in the strongest position we've been both on and off the pitch for God knows how long, we have a coaching set-up who look light years ahead of what we've had for ages, we have an owner who looks to have a well developed sensible long-term plan for success for the club and all you can think of is what some Latics fans will think of a series of FACTS about the club's accounts. Get a grip FFS.

I've read that article twice now and not quite sure on how "we" (rare fan of both!) are showing the way for anyone. Last set of accounts I saw 40 million went out on wages and turnover was only 45 million of which £4.5 million came through gate receipts.
Much happier with the financial set up of the rugby, but agree with the comments above, not sure I understand the insecurities of either set of fans, lifes to short, get on with supporting who you support. Personally I'd support a Wigan team in a tiddly winks competition, I'd rather a local team win that some jonny southerners any day!!!

Warrington led 16-2 in Saturday's Grand Final, but their joy was short-lived as Wigan roared back to win the Super League title and extend the Wire's 58-year wait to be champions:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_10174.png |
