| So, after the debacle of trying to catch a train home after the game on Saturday, a few of us headed off to King St for a few sherbets.
Guess what?
The door policy of the first four places we tried to enter after returning from Manchester having seen the town team win its first (important) silverware for over 8 years ....
"Sorry lads, no colours"
How fooolish of me to wear a polo shirt with the club crest on it.
Maybe i should have caught the train to Warrington and enjoyed a pint there instead.

| A bit daft imo. Obviously they were expecting trouble from others who would see the "colours" as reason to attack/taunt you.
Still- their loss of money at the end of the day.

| Reflex wouldn't let us in either. I found it rather amusing that there was hardly anyone in there
We ended up in Mortimer's, of all places, then Jumpin Jaks, of all places

| Luckily a mate of mine lives near enough in the town centre and a few of us dropped off some clothes first thing Saturday morning before departing for the train station.
Safe to say, we rolled in at just before 6am.

| Walkabout had quite a good number of people in Wigan tops on. The players turned up in there as well as Madge and Radders.
I loved the way simply the best was played literally every 20 mins

| Can't believe Tina Turner wasn't played at OT during the post match celebrations?
Had to request it in some dive of a karaoke bar on Portland Street at 2am. Seemed to get a good reception though, what I can remember of it
(BTW they were fine with people wearing colours. Although the players and coaching staff didn't turn up there.)

| the trains were a joke, we ended up catching the train to Manchester airport from Salford Cres, turning round and coming back home, seated all the way, got a drink at Machester airport during the 15 minute turnaround, and back home in Appley bridge for 11

Same here. To be fair, the DJ in Mortimer's milked the Wigan victory for all it was worth

| I had the same problem. I went round Wigan with a few other who had been to the match, as soon as I got there they'd told me that we couldn't go in anywhere, not even Walkabout as we had trainers on.
I'd guess that it was because Latics were at home earlier in the day. There was noticeably more police knocking about than usual.
Let's just say I wasn't impressed.

Last time we went there there were 3 of us. All wearing T-shirts. One of us wasn't allowed in because he had a 'sports t-shirt' on.
Their door policy is bonkers.

I did, I had to drive to old trafford and drive back so didn't drink while at the game, I really wanted to go out in manchester or wigan and join the celebrations but I had to take me sister and her god children home. Once back in great sankey my dad came back from the game and said lets go the pub, I sat there in full wigan shirt and scarlf, in the middle of a warrington pub having a few drinkies. To be fair not a problem, i got a few looks but nothing I'm not used to living in the town. A few people also asked us for the score. some prat asked me if i went, i responded with "does rambo carry a knife!"
I must admitt i'm a bit jelous of you guys going out in gods country, i prefer to have been there, but we made a party at home as much as we could.

| door policys right imo.
where do you draw the line?
my lad works the doors, and its a preventive measure.
i would rather him turn away a few guys out of dress code, than have to deal with the aftermath inside.
doors have always had rules.abide by them, or dont go there...........simple
