39110_1363272058.jpg Dropkick Murphy..we actually saw and heard a mass of bouncing and scarf and flag waving to Dale Cavese that drowned out anything we could muster.. It stopped us singing our own celebratory songs, it died out seconds later when we accepted we couldn't be heard over the Wigan lot
Celebrations muted from us, job done from them. Most fans who slag them off are jealous their own club's support is nowhere near that good

sally cinnamon..Why not discuss Wigan? It's a rugby league message board. Wigan are the most famous brand in rugby league
-
Tre Cool..Saints fans are hopeless unless it's a cup final or grand final. Wigan fans are so much more loyal and passionate
-
the flying biscuit..Wires havent been massively succesful over the years, but I've spoke to Brian Bevan And he spoke to me and i wouldnt swap that for Wigans History, ever

Ande..on the TV i could only hear the Wigan fans with about 10 to go

| Carmont will sign due to the number of games he has played.
I expect Pryce and Phelps to both leave.
McIlorum, we would be silly to let him go.
Deacon will either get a one year deal or become a full-time coach.

nothing been decided yet as far as any thing official goes . Carmont does have the option of a year in his favour , Deacon has declared he wants to play on and wants to talk to the club , if not he will be straight to his coaching role . heard nothing about phelps , I hope he does stay he has the talent to fill in anywhere in the backs and is still young . Pryce , shame he can't defend he could be lethal but he has no bottle . And I would like to think Mickey mac is soeted sooner rather than later or we will have no Hookers with first team experience ( well apart from Tommy ).

| There is a rumour on the rumours thread that KP has signed a new one year deal, cant understand whats going on with Phelps but i dont expect him to stay.
Heard rumours McIlorum has been approached by Saints so hopefully we are sorting out a contract with him.
George will have played the amount of games needed to trigger his new contract and as for Deacon its been well documented in the press that he wants to play on and Madge does also so can see him signing a 1 year playing extention.

| At the end of season dinner last night IL thanked the players leaving and there was no mention of Phelps or Pryce being among them.
As you probably know Phelps won Community Player of the Year.
Begining to think now that they both may stay.
As last night's function was an End of Season event I would expect announcements regarding next season to come along quite soon.
Season tickets go on sale tomorrow so good publicity will no doubt come thick and fast for very obvious reasons.

| I'd be surprised if Phelps stays. He's not played all season.

| It looks like they may keep him, however if another club came in for him I doubt they'd stand in his way.

| What is the point of keeping KP and Phelps?
What can they do that a youngster can't?

| Cant see us keeping Phelps when he never plays for the first team anyway. Would be the biggest waste of a quota spot ever.

Correct. If these two were kept given who we have arriving and who out of the rest of the squad has either already re-signed or we definitely want to re-sign then there would be no room for the next crop of youngsters to come through. It's gong to be tight as it is on that score even if these two depart.

well there is a space on the quota for him (2 in 2 out this year) and unless they are thinking of bringing in any one else from over seas then I cam see Phelps staying , he has got the talent and is still young himself , he just needs a run free of injury and a chance to get back . one bad thing for him is the way Sam has made the fullback position his own now IMO but he can play at centre and our first team 2 are both 30+ so I think he is worth a look at in there .

| I can kind of see the logic in re-signing both on a 1 year deal to be honest.
Phelps on the basis of - Roberts and Richards both having suffering quite bad injuries which are never easy to full recover from and as such they may need to be gradually re-introduced. So having someone with the versatility of Phelps next season may be an added bonus.
Karl Pryce - He made an improvement this year on previous showings, albeit he is still not really producing what you would expect from someone of his size and attributes based on what he's done before. So maybe, they have said to him "you can have a 1 year deal and if you achieve certain targets we set then that will trigger another year".
Personally I feel these triggered year options are very worthwhile as the players tend to produce when they're playing for a contract.
All this being said, I can see why they wouldn't re-sign

I wouldn't want him (or KP) keeping Marsh or Charnley out.
