| Well deserved too - good on him for sticking at it after a less than perfect start to his career over here rather than bottling out and heading home like countless others have.
A player I really like - does his job with minimal fuss and seems a good bloke.

| Trent Barrett won this award too, just before losing the MOS award to some mediocre scouser.
Hard lines Pat.

| was reading league express and there was an article saying Cunningham has to get man of steel. Im the first to admit that cunningham is a fantastic player and one of the recent greats but surely there are several players in front of him this year. my fear is that in his final year and having never won this award the players will vote for him to honour is career rather than the form of this season which to fair should go to any one of Pat, Lockers, graham, westwood, morley. just wondered what other peoples thoughts are !!!!

If that happens then there surely cant be any credibility in this award. Its not a sentimental award, its about who has made the biggest impact THIS year.

it depends on what criteria you judge "making the biggest impact"

exactly. the award was changed so fans vote for the MOS after the Trent/Roby farce. But knowing how much respect the players have for each other i wouldn't be suprised to see them vote for one of the games modern greats in his final season. For me Pat should get it, but i wouldn't be too disappointed if someone like morley or graham got it as both have had fantastic years. But your right it would destroy credibility of the award if Cunningham were to get it in these circumstances

| i'm sure the players of Super League will pick the best person for the award.
if Richards won it, I would have no complaints. However, I can see a number of other contenders who would be likely to get votes from across the playing community.

for me i wouldnt complain if any one of pat, lockers, graham, westwood or morley got it. any would be worthy winners. cunningham does not deserve the award THIS season in front of the above named players imo
