| where is the consistency in the rfl and refs.
it doesnt add up how can you ban sykes and coley for very harsh decisions then let boyle do a head high tackle with intent and get 1 game,
how can phil bentham on tonights game say to a player, "yes you lifted him up in dangerous position then you put him down safe, thats fine but dont go in throwing punches to the face". im sorry but luakie should of been in the bin or let the panel look at it,
RUINING THE GAME

| Coley pleaded guilty - he obviously didn't think it was a "very harsh" decision.

| The difference is Boyle probably hasn't been up before the disciplinary before. Coley only went up before them last month and got banned then, so returning within a month does not reflect well on him and hence the extra match.

| Plus Coley has already served a ban this year. I've only seen Boyle's tackle from one not-so-great angle but off that I think Coley's was worse anyway

| I thought Luauki should have gone into the bin aswell tbh and Tickle should have not Calderwood imo.

| Calderwood shouldn't have gone but tansey should. He ran 30yds to get involved. It's a bit difficult when there's a melée like that. You have to rely on your touch judges and maybe the video ref should get involved.
Nowt wrong with a bit of biff though

| I thought Bentham handled both fights pretty well to be honest.
As Pemps said, can't beat a bit of biff! Love to see a fight like that in a derby, don't understand why any rugby league fan would be disappointed to see it.

touch judges clearly stated that Tansey had joind the melée from the other side of the pitch + i think it was neatherwood if not he was told of two players running in who were not involved. Bent ham took the easy option (he can be heard saying just the two then for the bin rather than sending 3 or all four of them off.
consistency is right two players running in to a biff from way over the other side (Tansey ran 40-50 yards to get involved) should be an automatic binning should it not?

| I thought Calderwood;s binning was harsh tbh and any of Manu, Nethercott and Lauakiki could have gone.

| There is no consistency, the refs dont get it right, the touch judges, dont get it right and even the RFL dont get it right on their decisions when looking at players who have committed an offence. What chance do we have!!!!
A complete shambles, things need to be looked at.

| I agree - no consistency! I'm still appalled and aggrieved that neither Peacock for nearly taking Sam's head off) nor Senior (for kicking Joel in the face) was sinbinned by Bentham in the Cup Q/F. If they had, I think wigan would have won that game. And, of course, both were let off by the Disciplinary Committee...!! One rule for England players or ex-players ....! Same goes for Morley who almost always in recent times miraculously manages to escape punishment.

| There'a a nice picture of Morley doing a grapple tackle on Mossop in February's game ( that I'm pretty sure went unpunished) on the Club website. Maybe the club are drawing attention to Morley's tackling technique - reminding Silverwood to keep an eye out for it tomorrow.....!
