| Says he doesnt know if he wants to carry on in Observer but wants to win a trophy . So if we win GF would he retire or does it mean he is not getting new contract, or am I reading to much in to it.

I think all new contracts will need to have been done and dusted long before the Grand Finalsts are settled. Coley and the club will need to make their minds up well before then.

| Can't let Coley go. He's been our best prop by a mile this year.

| I would offer Coley one more year, he is easily still good enough so why not? If Feka is going and maybe Fielden as well we cant let too many of our props go all at once.
FWIW i would keep all of them bar Feka and replace him with a decent prop who can do a shift and rattle a few skulls when necessary. I was questioning Prescott a few games ago but the last 2 games hes been very good imo. He has run the ball in like he was running a baby out of a fire so hes worth keeping on if he can improve his consistancy especially with him being home grown.

Coley started better but Fielden has pulled it back recently, he has been fantastic in recent weeks imo. Neither has been miles better than the other imo. They have both been a big part of us being top so i would try and hold on to them.

| Players out of contract need to want to stay - this is something people often don't take into account when they say we should keep this player or that player.
As said above, Coley's considering retirement whilst Fielden may prefer a move closer back home.

| I’d like to see a few of our out of contract players getting signed up in the next few weeks.
At the end of the day the majority of the squad has proven it’s good enough to be league leaders. Guys like Coley, Fielden and Hansen are key members of the squad and we’ve gotta make it our priority to keep them with us and not our rivals. Other guys like Prescott, Mcilorum, Goulding and Pryce have played big parts in our season as well. When starters like Phelps and Roberts have gone down injured this season being able to call on quality players like Goulding and Pryce has helped us no end.
We’ve never had this level of squad depth before imo and we’ve gotta keep it going into next season.

We also need to entice them to stay and let them know they are wanted. If say for example Coley decided to retire but the coach wanted him to stay do you think he would just let him go? No chance, he would try and talk him into staying.

Agree with that post . A team that is top (ATM) doesnt need wholesale changes even if we dont win the GF, tweaking is the order of the day because we have a very good squad imo.

I’ve been saying the same about tweaking the squad for a while now.
As you said the team at the top of the league with 9 games left in the season doesn’t need a major overhaul.
If you look at the Wigan team which almost got relegated you could easily say these next few signings will be the completion of a long over haul of that squad. The last thing we need now is to start a new one when we’ve come so far.
With players like Feka and Bailey set to leave and the potential for reduced contracts for Fielden it’s not like we’ve got the money to sign a new prop is it.

That's no age for a prop! He should be looking at getting a decent 2 year deal from somewhere I reckon - Bradford, for example.
Mind you, we don't know what oppotunities he has down other paths. RL might not be his only option.

Qualified quantity surveyor or something isn't he? Brighter than he looks anyhow.
