| Was reading on the Hull board and they were saying that away support hasn't been as great at the KC this year. Is it the same with us? The crowds are the same or better, but is that more down to more home supporters?

39110_1363272058.jpg Dropkick Murphy..we actually saw and heard a mass of bouncing and scarf and flag waving to Dale Cavese that drowned out anything we could muster.. It stopped us singing our own celebratory songs, it died out seconds later when we accepted we couldn't be heard over the Wigan lot
Celebrations muted from us, job done from them. Most fans who slag them off are jealous their own club's support is nowhere near that good
-
sally cinnamon..Why not discuss Wigan? It's a rugby league message board. Wigan are the most famous brand in rugby league
-
Tre Cool..Saints fans are hopeless unless it's a cup final or grand final. Wigan fans are so much more loyal and passionate
-
the flying biscuit..Wires havent been massively succesful over the years, but I've spoke to Brian Bevan And he spoke to me and i wouldnt swap that for Wigans History, ever
-
Ande..on the TV i could only hear the Wigan fans with about 10 to go
-
Saint94..Every team is in your feckin shadow, we all know

Hard to say, really. Of the home games we've had, Crusaders, Catalans & Quins don't really count. Can't use Leeds as comparison either, as last year was the "Big One".
HKR brought a lot less than last year, I'd say, Hull brought more & Wakey seemed about the same.

| Theres only Wigan, Hull and Rovers that consistantly take big followings away from home, and I've said that for some time. Wire's numbers are growing which is heavily down to their on-pitch success, and Saints have a decent following, but apart from that, away support in general is very poor.

| £100 is not enough as in 6 games its paid for itself especally them yorkshire clubs that charge £20 to stand up in the rain with no facilties.

I have suggested an away season ticket before but the problem is getting all the clubs to agree to it. You could have an away ticket book i suppose with maybe 5, 8,10or 12 tickets in at say £12 per ticket. Which would be a big saving on most away ticket prices and that way which ever club you used them at would get the money from it rather than splitting the cost of an away season ticket between 14 clubs. That could work as not everyone that got an away season ticket would go to all away games.

Wouldn't work, maybe a scheme were you get discount vouchers either on the back of a previous home game ticket or a booklet if you're a season ticket holder (part paid for by the marketing budget). Discounted coach travel is also a big plus which could be run similar to mega bus (the more that travel the cheaper it is).

I think that tables great. Good work ancientnloyal!
Would be more interesting at the end of the season when all fixtures are in, but the away agg. will be interesting reading. I mean at the moment Harlequins are above us and have played a game less, but they've played 5 of the highest 6 average attendance teams away. So at the moment the data isn't a complete reflection as Quins definitely don't travel as well as Wigan!
Would it highlight who has the best away following? or just which teams are the biggest draw for home fans to turn out and watch? (part of their away agg. for Quins came from us opening up the away end to the sponsors for example)

| Quite easy to determine away following or 'the wigan factor'
Bradford away: highest is st helens but that was their first game of the season, bar that, wigan have a 'regular' high
castleford away: wigan has the highest gate for that
huddersfield away: 4th highest - ah well
salford away - highest
st helens - joint highest with warrington (sellout)
warrington - highest (sellout)
in theory, apart from huddersfield and bradford, when they played st helens first game obviously getting a high gate, wigan has attracted the highest crowds away from home.

It's nigh on impossible to establish the exact amount as to away support without figures from the clubs, but it does show clearly what games club's get big draws for.
One thing that ought to be pointed out is that the first home game of the season is always skewed slightly higher than you'd expect for that fixture. It is a bit surprising that 1,500 people more saw Cas host Wigan compared to when Saints went there, and apart from the Leeds game they won't beat that crowd this year.

| I did start off with first home games but soon realised these numbers were eclipsed for bigger gates, except for a few.
