| I was walking out the stadium after Warrington vs Salford on the Saturday and some fat Wire fan was chanting "Your so its unbelievable" at a group of about 5 young Salford fans who were no older than 8-9 years old. I thought it was a bit pathetic for a grown man to be chanting that at kids until they turned around and started chanting "Your so fat its unbelievable" There must of been 50 people laughing at this fat bloke, it was priceless.
Today was pretty sweet too. I was sat in the West upper and it was full of Wigan bashers. It was bloody quiet up there in the second half
Despite most of the games being crap, surely everybody has a few funny moments from when they were out and about up in wee Scotland?

| I went just for today and the event has lost what little magic it had without doubt. It was a cold, cloudy and drab day today and there was little to no atmosphere within the stadium for the majority of the time. Add in the poor fixture choices and the rip of 4 quid pints and it looks like it's time to call it a day.
Shame because our record at Murrayfield is fantastic.

the stadium looked empty on Sky yet Hemmings claimed it was more packed than a Hibs v Hearts Derby game, what a tool

I was very confused by it, they said 26K on Saturday and 24K on Sunday, then Eddie started talking about what a success it is to have 50K people watching rugby over two days. Surely that was 24K on Saturday and 2K went home after their team played.

I dont see how Eddie can possibly say it was a success for around 50,000 people to watch the games when just short of 70,000 went through the turnstiles to watch Rubgy League at the home venues in round 12. Admitedly the sport got great national coverage and having 7 televised games instead of 2 was great for armchair fans but the RFL should look long and hard at this.
I think Eddie's wig is growing inwards and clogging his brain.

Trouble is they're Sky puppets and so far up the rear of their paymasters it is beyond belief. Their total dismissal of the Challenge cup competition on saturday was a disgrace to the game, along the lines of 'get it out of the way so we can get on with the only competition that matters.'
Yes, lets just sweep 100+ years of history under the carpet in favour of a grand final format that has been in place for just over 10 years and a weekend jolly which only the commentators and sky staff on expenses are actually in favour of.
These two planks will kill the game if we are not careful. Hemmings being the worst culprit - At least Stevo has the excuse of being thick to hide behind whereas Hemmings is supposed to be an educated man.

Maybe a back up halfback, someone with a bit of experience on a short term deal.

It was! Only a few in the East stand, the majority in the West and North had gone too. There weren't even many Saints fans full stop.

Pretty much, yep. I don't know how they count the attendance, but it does seem to count twice the ones who attended both days.

| To me the problem isnt the quality of fixtures or the marketing its the venue.
I'm a student and going up to Scotland to watch a Huddersfield game simply isn't something I am willing to spend my money on.
I think the concept would work if it was somewhere worthwhile going to. If they had it at Elland Road, CoM Stadium, Anfield/Goodison Park or even in Birmingham I would be happy to hop in the car or on a train, get up or down there and support my team.
Add to this the fact that these stadiums would probably sell out with worthwhile fixture choices it seems a no brainer to move it to somewhere better like those.

| I can't see the benefit of having it in Scotland?
If some of the local public went to the event or even if we got the local schools involved what games would they go and watch once the event is over?
Maybe a handful of them might join a local RL team, if they are lucky enough to have one near them, but it hardly seems to be worth it just for that?
There must be better venues and days like this highlight the need for a national stadium in RL. An event like this in RU plus others like their GF, Cup finals, Internationals, Sevens games and one off spectacle matches like Army vs Navy or the Baa Baa’s would all be played at Twickers with the money then being recycled into the RFU coffers.
