| It seems that since Warrington have rose to prominence in the last few years, a 'triangle of hatred/dislike' seems to have replaced the derby rivalry between wigan and saints.
What are peoples thoughts on this? Are saints still the team to beat or is it wire, or both?
Personally I feel more of a rivalry with wire at the mo but come good Friday this could be different

| I definatly hate Wire fans more than Saints fans. It's not impossible to have a conversation with a Saints fan, and Wire's bitter-ness is unreal!

| Warrington are like the little kid, trying his best to hang around with the big boys. More of an annoyance than anything.
Saints/Wigan have a true rivalry with grudging respect between the fans (even if the fans wont admit it). I have no respect for warrington or their fans. Warrington fans have become worse than the Leeds fans for arrogance, even though they have nothing to be arrogant about

| I think that since they lost their main local rivals in Widnes, Warrington have definitely been trying to push their way into the Wigan v Saints thing. But it doesn't really wash.
There've been some big clashes between Wigan and Wire over the years, but the long history of close rivalry just isn't there. I also think it's inaccurate to talk about Warrington's "rise to prominence in recent years".
For many, many years, right up until this season in fact, Warrington have been average-to-poor in my opinion. They may not even do it this year yet; after recent results, the jury is back out. They won the cup last year, but were rubbish in the league. Even the so-called 'Halliwell-Jones hoodoo' that we suffered was nothing more than a coincidence - they just happened to be in a new stadium at the same time as Wigan had their worst team in decades. Sure, they've taken points off us, but have never come close to replacing Saints as our 'evil twin'.

| Even though i hate saints you have to respect them with what theyve achieved, theyre worthy rivals imo. Warrington just arent worthy of being mentioned in the same bracket and never will be. Warrington are a club trying to buy their way up but it aint gonna happen.

| Warrington are merely a nuisance, certainly not rivals to Wigan Rugby.

| As I posted on the Saints forum last week, I may not like St Helens but I certainly respect them. They've been a fantastic team over the last 15 years. But as far as Warrington go, they're continually writing cheques that they just can't cash. Far too big for their boots for my liking. Fair do's they won a trophy and played very well to do so. But it amazes me that some of their fans can't seem to grasp that Wigan and Saints fans know very well what's it like to win trophies. And we're equally aware that you need a lot more than just the one to achieve greatness.

| I can only echo the sentiments on here. It is the natural order of things for us to hate Saints. It's like cats and dogs.
