His versitility must have helped and he could be another Flanagan if he's given a shot.

I think the score-line was slightly too tight to introduce a kid.
As much as it was "only" a trial-game, I don't believe for one second that Maguire had any intention of not winning, just to see a bit more of a kid who played in both of the previous 2 matches.

Yeah I have to agree that the game was too much in the balance to bring the lad on. It may have only been a friendly but the lads will have taken a good bit of confidence from that game because at the end of the day we beat a side away from home who alot of people are tipping to be Leeds closest challengers.
We looked well drilled.

I know he was named by Maguire and Pryce wasn't. However I don't recall seeing Howarth warming up at any stage of the game (even pre-match)

The official site listed him as a sub on their match report but he didn't come on as far as I noticed. |
