Hate to admit it but Slater is a better fullback then Rads ever was. Rads was an outstanding player and could do some things better then Slater can but in attack Slater is just sensational and can do things Rads could only dream about.

Radlinski was better then the other 2 by a distance though.

Rads is the better Fullback. Slater is a better player. Just like he was a better FB than Lockyer, even though Lockyer is the better player. For what a fullback is supposed to do [Last line of defense, Positioning & Support play] there's nobody better.

What about Steve Hampson worth a mention he was truely out standing under the high ball.

Who is the best player? Billy Slater! He is amazing.

Who would I rather have in my team? Rads.

From earlier eras, Steve Hampson, George Fairbairn and Paul Charlton should also be on there.

In each case, though for different reasons, all of that lot could have given the first bunch of candidates a run for their money.

I doubt Slater could have put the display in that Radlinski did at Murryfield but then theres been displays for Australia and Melbourne by slater Rads unfortunately couldn't have come close to.

He's been the best British fullback of the past 20 years and longer but Slater would probably be our best ever if he were in our side at the moment.

Or you could go further back and select Martin Ryan. My now deceased Saints supporting father in law said he revolutionised fullback play by becoming the first real attacking fullback.

Billy Slater is a Stand Off playing Full Back. Just like Lockyer before him. Kris was an out and out Full Back.

IMO Radz was the best fullback I have seen. Slater is good but when you have Lockeyer, Smith, Inglis & Thurston giving it to you at rep level, you are going to have a good 6 years. At club level he plays for a very good side. Is he a better player than Radz IMO no. Unfortunately it is hard to compare era's. But Radz could tackle better than Slater, could catch a ball better than Slater, his defensive positioning was better. The only + for Slater is the way he can come up into the line and support the man and score the tries.

Radz never really ever cocked up either. Slater has had the odd brain fart, one in particular in a certain final stands out.

Going forward Billy is the best, defensively and under pressure radz was amazing. I bet Billy will never in the rest of his career have to put in as many last man tackles as radz (unfortunately) had to do in one season with wigan during our worst phase.

Radz also was the ultimate club man, not knocking Billy but at best he can only match Radz for dedication as his support of Wigan cannot be suppassed i believe.
