I'd be happy with that also, but Tarmac and painted bays should have gone in before the fence. It's an even worse version of the Wild West now.

i agree. but i cant see why else they would spend money on the railings unless they are going to charge. and charging assuming a decent managed surface.

I always stay right till the end of the game to applaud the players as they walk around the pitch and I got off car park 4 easier than I normally do. I would ask though that people do allow cars to join the que to get off and don't race to block off gaps so they can save themselves 5 seconds.

Tarmac would be very expensive and would probably make it a pay car park, they should however remove the raised kerb stones as they are dangerous.
We could do with two or three stewards to oversee the car parking and try and make sure no cars are blocked in.
I believe the fence is to keep travellers away from the site as with other measures around the complex.

Apparently if they steward it,then they have to charge.

It makes sense to pay for parking on the car park behind the East Stand when you buy your season ticket. I think it was £39 and that includes all home regular season games plus cup ties and playoffs.

There's a thread about Joel Tomkins in the 19 squad a few pages down. I can believe it though. The regular round games just don't have the same meaning as they once did.

Now back to the real issue, the club have only been informed this morning about the changes to the parking. Nothing the club can do, the management from Whelan + co though is awful. The car park will be stewarded too.

It was expected once the fence went up, I also expect a few more changes/charges as the parachute money from dropping out the prem will be reduced this year if they get any at all?

It was inevitable once the fence went up, and it sounds like it will be stewarded so hopefully the chaos of the Hull game will be avoided. I do think it should be properly surfaced and marked with allocated bays though.

Car park 3 was pot-hole-tastik for most of the 1st season they made it into "season-ticket-only", so I'd guess they just want some of the folding stuff up front before getting on with it.

A bit mean to do this now though, without any warning beforehand.

It actually goes up this year from £15m last season to £17m this. They get £8m for each of the two seasons after that if they don't get promoted.

I got a free season pass from the club for a carpark as I am one of the 100 that travel a fair distance to home games, don't know which one it is though. I park on asda as it easy from there to get to M6

It was nothing at all to do with the club, it was a decision made by the Stadium Management. As I said on a previous thread it's well worth buying a car park season pass along with your season ticket. It costs £39 and covers ALL games.

Park on the surrounding streets in Newtown and walk in.
Back in the 80's / 90's we regularly got crowds upwards of twenty five thousand without the use (or need) of an official car park.

Re: Golden Gamble Ticket, Pie, Pint, Program - All these are optional so whats the harm? To keep costs down I eat before going to a match, but I buy a pint. I have a flutter on the golden gamble but give the programs a miss. Its all choice.

Is there even one other Super League club who offer free parking? I can't think of any. Just park a bit further away for free and walk like I do if it bothers you that much
