Just watched the recording of the game and maybe I was a bit harsh saying the 2nd 40 wouldn't warrant any progression in the play offs, we managed the game brilliantly at times and just backed our defence.

Brad O'Neill must be a shoe in for YPOTY. His last stint at 13 was immense, I think Peet will utilise him more over the few weeks in that position and keep Smithies on the field at prop.

I was fuming when he used him at 13, his distribution was/is far better than Powells, should have swapped them around

I agree on the distribution part, but O’Neill has looked good at LF on the 2 occasions he’s been played there this year. Looked very good at Leeds for the last 15/20 mins when he slotted in there. Has a decent little step on him too to get in between defenders.

Feels like we’ve half an eye on next year with O’Neill spelling at 13. You don’t buy a guy like Leeming to play only 20 minutes a game but you need O’Neill on the field for the majority of the game.

If there is any consistency then he won’t receive a ban. LMS did exactly the same at wasn’t suspended.

Leeming used to fill in at half back at Leeds I'm pretty sure. Maybe they're looking at players ability to play various positions and roles thus moving them around to see who's best and where.

Anyone can see the league is better with this strong Leigh side in it & that's all down to DB dipping into his pockets and paying for it. From a Wigan POV, we've had three big game type fixtures against them and they've been great. He's invested in the squad (Lam is fine player) and arguably, more importantly, he's invested in the atmosphere on game night too.

But yeah, he's an idiot that Leigh (& in turn SL) could do without. Let's go back to Leigh in the Championship.

To put so much emphasis on the no try on Friday is absolute madness...if it had been given a try, I absolutely believe it wouldn't have decided the game at that point. Not too sure if it's already been said on here, but FWIW I thought theirs was a try and ours wasn't.

Having DB pump £££ into Leigh and them being competitive is great for Super League and it's great having another local rivalry, but I wish he'd just knob off with the brain farts!

DB and the SKY people talk as if that disallowed try decided the game.

If Wigan had gone 12-10 down then they would have had to chase the game. Playing it tight up the middle would not have won us the game from behind. The last 15-20 mins Leigh looked shattered and were out on their feet. I don't think for one minute that they would have been able to stop Wigan's fast backs from scoring, and probably more than once.

Leigh have lost, they are still in the play offs from fourth, accept they have done well and get on with it.

The reason he is such a character is because he is unpredictable and to be fair he has been a fantastic owner and built a team he and the town should be proud of.

Decisions go your way and they go against you. I’ve not seen him carrying on when they have gone for his club.

It wasn’t the right forum for him to express these views and he needs reminding of it.

The ref was consistent on the night on the 2 calls in the cold light of day he needs to realise that and retract his comments publicly given he chose to make them public.

DB has had more of a positive impact on SL than a negative one. Maybe every owner should be like the old Wakey, or current Cas ones instead. No one knows what they are called, no development plans, no ambition, vote against growth plans etc - just stay silent tho and you'll be ok.

Btw - yeah I do think he was right to comment. It was right for McManus to comment post CC final when they get done in by a bad decision and Leigh are right on this one. I wish IL/KR publicly challenged the RFL more.

They've got a voice and a platform, so why not use it. Don't keep silent, or nothing changes & god knows that self serving show called the RFL needs changing.

Most if not all owners and chairmen including our own are very vocal with the RFL.

They just chose to do it in the right forum in a professional way.
