| Ruddy Duck - are you just a troll or do you really not understand the concept of one owner splitting their assets into multiple companies?
Your posts clearly show that you one of the two.

How does this effect us ? will we still be able to play at DW .
Wigan Athletic: EFL blocks takeover of League One club
The prospective takeover of Wigan Athletic has been blocked after the EFL said the new owners "failed to satisfy the league's requirements".
The Spanish consortium were given a second extension to complete their purchase of the ailing League One club last month.
The English Football League said they had "undertaken significant due diligence on the relevant parties".
Wigan were put into administration and relegated from the second tier in July.
The EFL added: "The board reiterated its commitment to working with the administrators to secure a successful and sustainable future for the club and will meet with them to discuss the implications of this decision at the earliest opportunity."
BBC Sport understands that the current bidders still have an exclusivity period that lasts for another seven days.
It is also understood there are other interested parties.

Depends what happens in the next 5 months. If nobody buys Latics then presumably IL gets the stadium for pennies

| Last interview with Mr Leneghan on Wigan TV he said that he had been heavily involved in the background with Wigan Athletic's administration. Heard he wanted to buy the ground but was told the ground came with the takeover one of the bidders wanted to go to Leigh Sports village.

Latics could still go the way of Bury at this rate. What happens then when or if there's no other tennant to share the bills?

| This whole subject is so bloody boring but perhaps so bloody predictable.
Right at the beginning of all this, some people said we'd regret letting Whelan tie us to that football club. So many people had reservations about that guy, but our constant and costly success (not to mention the collapsing coal mine under the new stand!) ensured that in the end we needed his money. And at first it seemed okay. All the time that Latics were punching above their weight in the Premier League it felt safe. The halfwits among their fans made constant empty threats about chucking us out of a stadium we had a cast-iron contract on, but the reality was that their success was paying for our new home. However, it wouldn't have taken a genius to recognise that this was never going to last. Latics were going to be okay for as long as Whelan, who was already an old man, was there to pay the bills.
How long did anyone really think they'd last in the fantasy world of top-level football, where simply fielding a team for a couple of months costs the equivalent of fielding a SL squad for several seasons, without a sugar-daddy so enamoured by his final project that he'd flush money down the toilet to keep it afloat?
Every time I see this subject come up on these forums it drives me mad that Wigan RL, who under IL have been an efficient, well-run club and the winners of much silverware without any silly overspending, still appear to be joined at the hip to this football club who are clearly finished in the upper flight (even if they don't realise that) and are likely to leave us having to run the whole stadium on our own, or worse.
I've changed my views re Wigan Athletic a dozen times in the last two decades. First I thought them an irritant (mainly because of their delusional idiot fans). Then, when Whelan took over, I saw them as an actual threat. Then, when it became obvious that he had no legal power to evict us from the stadium, I started to see how the arrangement suited us. Then, when he was gone and they'd crashed out of the top flight and suddenly we were under IL's control and winning stuff again, I didn't mind them at all.
Now though, Latics' inevitable problems appear to have become our problem too. I'm not going to pretend that I know the ins and outs of this mess they're in or what it means for us, but the uncertainty it's causing for Wigan RL is intensely aggravating. I'm taking comfort from the fact that our officials seem very calm about it all, but at present it's really difficult not thinking that all those years ago, Wiganers who warned against letting Dave Whelan anywhere near Wigan RL were really, really onto something.

| The stadium could break even or even be profitable if the following happened:
1. Both clubs paid a fair rent for use.
2. RFL events, such as internationals and Challenge Cup SFs were played there.
3. The ground was used a couple of times a year for concerts.
4. To protect the pitch, friendlies, reserve football games and EFL trophy games were played at the Robin Park arena.
The problem has arisen because throughout the premier league years, a £1m loss was small change to Whelan who was receiving well over 50 times that amount just for being in that league. It only became problematic once the gravy train dried up and Uncle Dave had flogged his pet project to the Chinese money launderers who had no more use for the club as a vehicle to move money around.

| The reason why the EFL has blocked the takeover concerns who is involved with the take over by the Spanish buyers and where the money is coming from to buy the club and the stadium.
At the time the EFL blocked the take over, former Latic's Manager Roberto Martinez for some reason, made a statement in which he claimed he had nothing to do with the take over by the Spanish buyers.
And why has the administrator who sold the club and stadium to the Spanish buyers gone silent on the matter?
The EFL are right to block the sale while they investigate what has been going on in the sale of the club and the stadium, especially after what happen with the previous Chinese owners.

Spot on, Whelan should never have been allowed by Wigan Council to have anything to do with the ownership of the Stadium!

| We didn't do too bad on the field under Whelan originally we just used to bottle finals. 2005-2007 came about from poor cap management and coaching appointments. Once he sold the club he made mistakes with re-arranged fixtures but he was quite rightly concerned about his major investment and PL football. If he still owned Wigan at the time I doubt we move any fixtures.
Without DW there's every chance we wouldn't be playing in Wigan which is a pretty scary thought. I would definitely rather have Lenegan in charge though.

| Both clubs HAVE to get on together otherwise the distinct possibility is that they will suffer badly in the short and medium term. Lenagan is no mug and I'm expecting a bit more "information" in the next part of his video on Wigan t.v.

Very interesting interview pity its not on you tube or face book just to show the Latics fans that they are not being forgotten he wants to see both clubs at the DW. If you've not got Wigan TV its worth paying for a month just to hear whoever buys the ground he says they will have to honor the lease .

He also says he put 3 separate bids in for the ground plus sharpys building.
The administrator has point blank refused to sell the ground without the latics. He says he looked for 20 people to each throw in 250k to buy the latics but that simply wasn't feasible in current times . He also says he has held dialogue with the two interested parties other than the Spanish consortia

There was never any real intention by Robinson and his board to play outside Wigan. It was only a tactical ploy to try and force the Council to help the club find a site for the club to have a Stadium of his own.
But, the Council in its wisdom chose to support Whelan which has resulted in the present mess due to Whelan selling the Latics and the Stadium to poor owners, while he made for a fat profit for himself and departed to Barbados.
Some people actually believe that he cared about the Warriors and the town of Wigan when he only ever cared about himself!
