The "Mike Newell - Bung Buster Stand" has a nice ring to it.

I reckon Whelan is one of the biggest WUM going.

Last season he was obviously bored so decided to wind-up the rugby fans with the whole Widnes play-off thing. This season he's decided to wind-up the Latics fans with the stand name.

What's his next move?

Strange - seems a fully decent move by Whelan on the face of it.

Perhaps he realised quite how bad the feeling towards him from half of Wigan was and decided to rectify it, but without doubt a stand will be named after someone from Latics as well.

Name the East stand after Graeme West, that'll confuse the fans of the dribbling code
