McIlorum is a thug.
He fits in to Wigan's style of play very well (I'm not suggesting they are all thugs) in that they overwhelm the incompetence of current British referees by pushing every boundary regarding offside, holding down, high tackles etc to the extent that they haven't the backbone or the backing to penalise every offence without completely stopping the match.
Against an equally efficient and aggressive (probably Australian) pack he would bluster and then run and hide.
How he stayed on the pitch against Leeds tonight mystifies me. If a player attacks the head (or makes a spear tackle) it is ridiculous for the referee to suggest that the offender knew that the outcome would not be serious and therefore let's it go with a sin binning or on report.

Not overreacting to tonight, but the guy comes up with the goods in the big matches time and time again. He is in my top 3 hookers I have seen playing for Wigan, and that covers a considerable period.

It beggars belief given what happened in the match we ALL just watched.

But then, Leeds's current fans (and some of their players), are the least able to take defeat on the chin that I've seen anywhere in the game in the last 30 years.

It's ironic to say the least how Leeds fans are whining about our tactics when for the past 5-10 years we've all had to deal with the cheap shot merchants Bailey and JJB. How fickle that they can't remember some of the absolute disgraceful acts we've seen from Leeds players in the past.

As the saying goes they certainly don't like it up them and they seem lost when players stand up to them and their bullying tactics fail to work.

That being said - what a guy Peacock is. He bossed the game a couple of weeks ago and this week it was obvious we targeted him and tried to hurt him. A few times tonight he was smashed by the Wigan guys but he just kept coming back for more and more. Truly one of the modern greats of the game whose toughness is equal to anyone that has pulled on an RL shirt.
