| Just goes to show, when the Ref decides not to issue red cards for attacks to head McIlorum can be on the pitch long enough to not be .
In a test match he'd have walked.

Give over! Look at the crookes tackle for an attack to head where the player should have walked. Mcilorums was a nothing tackle that was a penalty at best

How ironic a post considering the 'god-like' status given to that grub Bailey by Leeds fans over years and years! TMFMISL (The most feared man in Super League)!!
Don't make me laugh!

| McIlorum is a thug.
He fits in to Wigan's style of play very well (I'm not suggesting they are all thugs) in that they overwhelm the incompetence of current British referees by pushing every boundary regarding offside, holding down, high tackles etc to the extent that they haven't the backbone or the backing to penalise every offence without completely stopping the match.
Against an equally efficient and aggressive (probably Australian) pack he would bluster and then run and hide.
How he stayed on the pitch against Leeds tonight mystifies me. If a player attacks the head (or makes a spear tackle) it is ridiculous for the referee to suggest that the offender knew that the outcome would not be serious and therefore let's it go with a sin binning or on report.

| Looks like the pints of Yorkshire Bitter is flowing well this evening.
The 'Dirty Wigan' thread on the VT is an entertaining read!

didn't watch the world club challenge? All the Aus commentators were raving about him, makes the rest of your post irrelevant.

Exactly.
He battered Warea-Hargreaves senseless every time he ran the ball and nothing else really needs to be said.

You don't know much about MM do you? Hiding is not a trait he possesses.

The VT and Substandard are especially funny tonight. If I wasn't a mod I'd bump that "Whino Miss Pissypants nominations" thread I started after we won the cup in 2011.

| Not overreacting to tonight, but the guy comes up with the goods in the big matches time and time again. He is in my top 3 hookers I have seen playing for Wigan, and that covers a considerable period.

Quote Worlds Apart="Worlds Apart"You're right, McDermott was duped. He made the strategically poor decision of trying to play Rugby League according to its rules. He should have foreseen that as an foohardy move that would make victory less likely.
Three massive decisions Wigan got off Scott-free on:
McIlroum swinging arm to JP's face - Red
Bateman's three punches to Bailey's head - Red
Spear tackle - Red
All given as yellows / OR.
Then let's look at the others
- We're pressuring the Wigan line, Sinfield breaks through. Knocked out of his hands after the tackle was completed, given as a knock on.
- Sutcliffe makes a tackle, Bowen takes a swing at him. Wigan penalty for holding down? Next set, Wigan hold JP down for about 10 seconds, no penalty. Should have been our penalty and a yellow for Bowen.
- Try chalked off - bull was it a knock on. There's 6 arms in their, and even with their 'super zoom' you can't see whether Moon had it in the first place, or whether Smith knocked it out. Try, BotD.
Also Wigan being about 5m offside all match long.
But yes, it's McDermott's fault. Why don't you get the love off of here and take your rubbish little agenda with you?
Anyway, onwards & upwards. Drop BJB, have Aiton & Burrow back for the GF and we'll rape them so hard McIlroum will be walking bow-legged till 2016.'"
Wow. Just wow!!!!
