Quote ="MattyB"Does the train go past the ground still? Assuming not as IIRC it was a coal freight train that slumbered past every so often. I remember a game back in the early eighties and Wigan had a scrum feed, past the ball out and one of our players (think it was Wendy Whitfield) was day-dreaming watching the train go past. The whole section of the Wigan crowd shouted at him to catch the ball, think he dropped it or it went in touch.

Yep the trains still go past the ground - freight, local passenger service trains, even intercity style ones rumble past on a frequent basis (bar sunday when there is no local passenger service)
Looking forward to this one it will be nice to see players like Tomkins, Charnley and Richards attempting to ply their trade on our ground hopefully
Whichever day the game is played im hopeful of a big away following, you always seem to travel well so the old place will be rocking again
Being at home we should have no fear especially after beating cas but you are an entirely different kettle of fish, if we get a couple of tries and give an overall good account of ourselves i will be happy
Someone mentioned about last orders - dont know what will happen with that i suspect it might be an all fev pub again with people on the door, the owners hates it when theres more than 20 people in anyway let alone supporters intermingled!
Hope the first timers enjoy their visit and returning supporters enjoy their return, hope we put on a good show for you - from corporate to the terraces
