A while since I've been back but the Beeches was always good. Been told the Wiggin Tree has been done up recently.
High Moor Restaurant in Wrightington and Gallimore's up The Wiend.

| The Stables on Millgate (side of the Grand Arcade) is nice, as is the Hinds Head at Heskin and, of course, The Crown at Worthington.

If you mean the Hinds Head in Wrightington then it's now changed hands and is part of a chain. That chain, somewhat ironically, is called 'best british pubs' and it's the worst pub meal I've ever had. Would not recommend it to a Wire.
I really can't recommend the Dicconson Arms enough. It's the one at the top of Appley Lane North on the way to the Wiggin Tree.

They used to have a Spanish kitchen and knocked up some cracking food, but like you said, it changed hands and they stopped serving Spanish food. Only went once afterwards and it wasn't a patch on the previous standard.

It's been a few things recently. It was a taps restaurant and then it became more of a traditional place (Owned by the same people who own the Railway at Euxton). We used to go a lot and I never had a bad meal there. It closed due to lack of passing trade and now it's been taken over by a chain. Nothing against chains particularly, but this one is awful.
Like I said in my previous post. If you want a really good meal, get yourself to the Dicconson Arms.

Ah, that is the reincarnation I was referring to. Had an excellent meal there for Grego's birthday last year, bit gutted to hear it's changed again as that meal was really superb. I will chuck out our once-used loyalty card for it then!!

| Farmers Arms in Eccleston is a good meal, but its not cheap and not much room for big groups. The Farmers arms up the road is also a good meal (two miles between the two). The Owls at Standish is always a good meal, nothing flash but a good meal at a reasonable price and plenty of room for large groups. The Beaches is also good for groups and I have never had a bad meal in there. Can you tell what I like to do at weekends ?

36121_1270460193.jpg Conroy - Being a Latics fan i'm already immune to watching sh*te.
Sally Cinnamon - Treat the Saints forum as you would if you met a girl from St Helens. Best policy would be to avoid altogether but if you absolutely can't resist temptation then take every possible precaution.:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_36121.jpg |

Radio 5 Live reported that Martinez said in the match programme that the state of the pitch was caused by "rugby league commitments".
You would have thought the pitch would be in A1 condition with 11 loads of 5hit being on the pitch every other week sine August.

Maybe someone could confirm this in the programme? Conroy?
