| Quote: Odemwingie "We have been blessed with some of the greatest players the world has ever seen! We will always have this problem.
People forget that some of those players also made mistakes though.
Phelps is an attacking FB and IMO he is on of the best with the way he comes into the line, he had 3 or 4 assists for us in 2 games!
He has a kicking and passing game which is none existant with most FB's.'"
He has all that of course but I don't get where this talk of him being terrible in defence comes from tbh.
Are people constantly running through him like they did with Ashton and Mathers? No
Does he make try saving tackles? Yes
Does he put his body on the line to collect 50/50 kicks unlike Mathers used to do? Yes
Like I say I don't get it. I guess it's just because he's an unheard of Australian. If he'd have come over as an out and out fullback with a big reputation everyone would be fine with him because his preformences are special.

They are two of the best fullbacks in the league and defensively they are streets ahead of Cameron Phelps. I can't believe you can't see that or even acknowledge it.
We'll agree to disagree.

| I'm a little worried that by losing Phelps and therefore having to re jig the back line that we may lose some of that impetus from last night.
Assuming Amos moves to fullback how will he cope with the highballs that wire will throw at him, that concerns me greatly.
Fingers crossed it's only a knock for Phelps. He'll be a big loss if he's out for any length of time.

So far he has, but he hasn't had too much to do either so I'm not completely convinced yet due to his efforts in the pre season games.

Like I say i've seen both make big errors in defence. I've seen Webb miss one on one tackles and i've seen him panic and high tackle people as the last man. I've also seen him totally miss read bombs and get nowhere near them.
As for Greenshields I wouldn't call him a good defensive fullback at all. He's made the same errors and I watched him at Wembley a couple of years ago against Saints have a shocking game in defence. He missed stacks of tackles but that side of his game has improved.
All 3 of Phelps, Webb and Greenshields are fantastic attacking fullbacks and decent enough in defence.

They "Thought" it was a break last night but in his words "It's not as bas as He 1st thought!".
4-6 weeks
PS
We get a steady team, a full back that attempts tackles (Althought not brilliant he is better than the 2 x presious incumbents MAthers & Ashton, by a country mile!) 2 wingers scoring tries for fun, a new coach that has overseen the resigning of him at least for 12 months and seems to pick him at FB despite what the so called experts on here think, he creates more tries from FB than other FB we've had probably since H Paul played there and we want to change it around?

| Keep the changes to a minimum.
Roberts to fullback (a position he has played regularly in Australia) and either Pryce or Ainscough on the wing (I suspect it will be Pryce)

I think goulding will get the nod for the wing spot.

He wasn't selected for the reserves today, and the rumour is he is on his way to Salford. Josh Veivers was withdrawn at half time so who knows?

| It's time for Pryce 2 get an extended first team run IMO.
Ainscough proved his worth last season and was rewarded with a new deal BUT the best thing for his development is staying at Widnes for now.
This season is a crunch time for Pryce and this sustained period of game time will make or break him.
