It's actually a six man team now. Joel Tomkins was added to the leadership team a couple of weeks ago. It's difficult to say if it's been a benefit or not because pretty much everything has improved from last season. It would be hard to point at just one thing that has been the catalyst for wholesale improvement |

| I agree with Nick 
And would just add that at times over the last few years the team has been crying out for added leadership on the field (no disrespect to Lockers) and I think the only time we came close to it was with Trent. Now we seem to have a team of leaders.

I think Lockers has really benefitted from having the burden of the captaincy taken off him.
He is not a natural leader, despite what many on here would have you believe. Imo this has been his best season yet, and that is no coincidence.

Nothing to do with the new coaching regime, the fact that the players around him are finally playing to a better level, and that he's generally part of a winning team?
Nah, lets ignore that. It's all about the captaincy. |

Agreed.
Lockers has worked hard in often very difficult circumstances with little support from coaches or other "senior" players. It would be a just reward for a man who has toiled for years at this club - bizarrely underappreciated by his own fans (it is not his fault that he isn't Andy Farrell!) and hated by the rest of RL for epitomising Wigan - to lift the SL trophy at OT in a few months time. |

More likely that it'll get banned and we'll be stripped of the title for 'breaking the spirit of captaincy' or something
I've not even been paying enough attention to note who's been the first player out of the tunnel some weeks this season, but it's fair to say that the whole leadership group have stepped it up a notch this season and the results speak for themselves.
Out of interest, is there a list anywhere of who was designated 'captain' for each game? Would be interested to see how it's rotated around the side and what results we've picked up with which leader.
