Seriously, I am really happy with this. A young coach with fresh ideas is exactly what we need. He is very highly regarded and has spent the last 3 years working under the best coach in the world. Good appointment.

First off I would like to see him change some of the backroom staff but keep the likes of Wane and Radlinski involved.

He was the backs coach at Melbourne and to be fair they play some pretty nifty rugby so I would go with that.

Is Wane his assistant?

I assume so but no other information was announced.

I suppose I'll be in the minority but I'm not convinced he's the right man for the job, It'll be interesting to see the anti Nobby crowd if this guy fails to deliver less than what Nobby did. I hope he can take us a further step but at the moment nothing convinces me that he can.

After all the bashing that Nobby got, I just hope this guy is the right man for us. That's all I'm saying otherwise it will make the Nobby bashers look very silly.

He's pulled a rabbit out of the hat imo and deserves praise from all those who knocked him.

How about we give the lad a bit more time than the length of a press conference to see if he is right for the job

IMO if we like it or not Aussies have done a good job for other clubs. Maguire has a decednt reputation, so should be given a chance. I do want to see us get at least to a final by 2011.

Quite. Noble had plenty of time to prove himself so lets give this guy the same.

Its going to take a good few months for his methods, style and tactics to take effect. Im not saying next year is going to be another "development" year as I do expect to see improvements but to expect silverware or even final appearences in his first season is just short sighted.

Hopefully he will breathe fresh air into the club and take us to the next level as well as get us playing an exciting brand of RL.

I am not saying I know that but he has been coaching the backs at Melbourne and they play superb rugby and can keep it simple when it needs to be. Wane can get our forwards running in hard, our academy run with more agression than the first team.
