So Has Potter "Improved" St Helens? It was only 3 weeks ago a lot of the Saints fans were saying how it was the most Boring Rugby Blah Blah Blah they had Seen in 20+ Years!'"
They said the same thing in the first 12 months of Anderson too, now he apparently played the most expansive rugby since The Invicibles came over.
We lost a lot of experience over the last few years and replaced it with youth (and Soliola, but he's played about 45 mins in all), we've also had to contend with injuries that get described as 'decimating' when other team suffer them (such as you were described by Hemmings as when you had 9 missing against Quins, yet nothing was mentioned when we had 8 missing against Leeds the night after), but barely get mentioned when we suffer them. Let's not forget these are youth players that a lot of you lot say are no good, but there we sit, 2 points behind you and having just put Leeds and Hull KR to the sword.
Potter isn't a miracle worker, he isn't the best coach we've ever had, but he has progressed our squad, improved our youngsters, managed the transition of the three key players we've lost (or are losing) without us losing a great deal of momentum. He's a bloody good coach and a lot better than Morgan IMO.
