so what difference does it make ? and why so many negatives in your post ?

beeb 2 was good enough before for much of the early RL tv coverage except the Grandstand saturday afternoon treat with dear old Eddie W so why shouldn't it be good enough now ?
The aims of terrestrial tv coverage should surely be to a) win back/remind previous RL regulars that the game is still great to be a part of as well as providing enetertainment for the current (but dwindling) RL fans and b) hopefully attract new speccies to our great game ?

BBC1 gets more viewing figure purely because they put the already most watched programmes like Eastenders on it, do you think if they put Eastenders on BBC2 people would stop watching it and start moaning? Geez get a life.

I don't know why it's so hard to grasp the fact that BBC1 has an inherently larger audience than BBC2 and that putting RL on a minority interest channel like BBC2 doesn't help the game.

in which the acting head of BBC Vision says they think they'll be able to build a bigger audience for the programme on BBC1 than BBC2. So, TV people think it does make a difference. But what do they know next to a Warrington mod....

It's not rocket science, it's TV. So I'd go with the opinion of people who work in TV, thanks.

You might want to back that up by looking at the viewing figures of Neighbours and Home and Away. Both sets of viewing figures took a huge drop when they moved to channel 5 from BBC1/ITV
