I am not saying Inglis isnt world class, I am saying that we won the grand final with these 2 centres so no, I wouldnt want a new centre, id rather stick to what we know we can trust.'"
Don't you think you would be just a little bit better with Inglis?
Thats abit like saying we won back to back Challenge Cups with Mathers I would rather stick with him then have Billy Slater..

| If he's comparing abilities, then it's a stupid point.
If it's in respect of their value for money, would inglis really offer 3 or 4 times as much as Carmont?

Greg Inglis can do things on a rugby pitch that Carmont could never dream of doing.
Plus he's only about 23 and Carmont must be atleast 30.
Its a no brainer.

Would you have Billy Slater if you had to get rid of King/Briers/Monaghan & Riley to make room under the cap? Obviously talk of Slater just slotting in replacement of Mathers without it affecting the balance of the team is silly.

But we would have to get rid of 3-4 players in addition to carmont to make room under the cap.
We've been down that route before and got hammered for it.

I'd have him for 2 of the above players.
But 21-12 isn't on about Cap space.

| I would happily lose Roberts, Hoffman and Carmont for Inglis and I think the squad would improve truth be told, Inglis is that good.

not meaning to be picky, but why is it a few of your fans (someone else mentioned getting rid) are keen on getting rid of the man monster hoffman, hes huge, looks like he will do a great deal of damage, and could be a key impact player for your squad. why?

Whilst i am really, really looking forward to seeing Ryan next year i think that we Wigan fans have an embarrassment of riches in the back row.
Lockers
Farrell
JT
Hansen
Mossop
Tuson
and possibly Hock
All of these players are Wigan produced and very capable , so i suppose that is why losing Hoffman would not be the end of the world.
Personally i am genuinely happy that he has signed and would not dream of getting rid.

i see your point, and your right that is a pretty good back row, but honestly, i dont see mossop being a big name in RL, hes a steady eddie, however tuson could be a star for you in the future, his heart is massive, and he will never give up, if im right he broke his nose and kept having a go in a match last year (stains at DW)! now i know theres other players that have done this, Jon Wilkin, Andy Farrell, but for a yound lad in a big game to say right get me back on! takes some cajones!
but i agree that ryan will be a big hitter next year (unfortunately)! still think super ben will sit him down though!

Im not comparing abilities at all, read my post, im talking about sticking with a CHAMPIONSHIP WINNING TEAM. Carmont and Gleeson have been absoulutely superb for us last season and my point was, why would we even consider buying a centre?? At no point what so ever have I said Greg Inglis is not a world class player, he is, and would love him at Wigan when Carmont's contract is up, but for the time being im quite happy with having IMO the best 2 centres in SL.

I don't think Tuson will have much of a future at Wigan, think he's just going to be too small.
As for Mossop, I think he could easily add a lot more bulk, and if he got a good run of games without injury I think he adds a lot to the side.

It is hypothetical as it will never happen ie Inglis, I simply picked 3 players whose wages would probably equate to that of Inglis.
I am looking forward to Hoffman playing, and hope he has a long career at Wigan, but I would happily not have him, Carmont and Roberts if we could sign Inglis and I think we would be a better team.
Inglis in the centre, same back row as last year, Goulding or on the wing.
