2. secure parking for every fan? wigan.....the only incidents of damage are when fans park in side streets to save a couple of quid.
3. if you dont know about the disabled issues away fans had a couple of years ago with the leeds club, then i suggest you find out whats going on at your club.....if you pm your mod Mclaren Field he might let you in on it.

The correct answer to the OP questions have already been posted on the identical thread on southstander.com.

Fact is that you parked on a public street and suffered criminal damage as did someone else, you should have reported it to the police when you returned to your car although in the area that you parked I've no doubt that they would have pointed to the police signs attached to most of the lamp posts there advising drivers that car thieves operate on those streets and to remove all valuables on display (have a look next time, they are everywhere, the signs that is)

The population all around the vicinity of the ground is a transient one, its studentsville on a grand scale, there are probably more students in Leeds than the total population of Wigan, and in Headingley there are very few genuine "residents" at all - this is not to say that students are the criminals, they are not, its just that they feel no allegience to the area, they have no history to the area and little pride in it, even if they saw someone committing criminal damage they probably wouldn't be ar$ed reporting it as I would (for instance) if I saw something similar outside of my house in my district.

Thats the hard fact, its a shame, but there it is, call it modern society of you like but if you leave something on show in or on yoru car that makes it stand out from the crowd then there is a chance that it will be vandalised or stolen, you lost the lottery last night.

Don't feel too bad though, the same thing happened to me (broken drivers window) when I left a carphone (as they were then) on display inside my car for a Challenge Cup semi-final at Central Park against Widnes in the early 90's- a very nice local bobby tried to persuade me not to file a report as the lads around there "weren't a bad lot, just bored", he may have been right.

So two cars get damaged an all of sudden Leeds have a major problem and need to provide secure parking at games? Get real! People take their choice as where to park their cars when they go to games, yes there is always the chance damage will occur but that is always a chance when you park your car anywhere - so places it will of course be more at risk, park on a street and the risk increases.

The only time I have ever had problems with damage to my car driving to a game is when I parked in the official car park at Hudds so don't assume because a club provides car parking facilities your car is all of a sudden going to be secure.

The street name the buses park on for our game is Beechwood crescent, not sure if this was the same street the wigan buses park on.

I lived there when I was a kid

salford was the place were my car got damaged , the whole line of cars in the street , the body work was scratched with a key or similar, and i have no flags or stickers to show i am from leeds. it was the first time i had parked there as where i usually park was full, so a case of being in the wrong place ,wrong time , in ten years of going to the reds.

you want to know if we have parking if every fan went in his car?

well for starters my 2 yr old wont be in his car, nor will any juniors who go......prob about 25% of the gate.
take away non drivers like me (we have 7 season tickets, 1 driver), those who live within walking distance, those on public transport (quite a lot), and those who leave the car at home to have a drink and your left with ample spaces for the cars left, even if they are all lone drivers.

away fans?? dont tell me that every away fan would ever drive over here alone, plus again theres juniors, and folk on coaches.

(Unfortunately) there are plenty of cars in Leigh with a ton of Wigan stickers etc in the back of the car, and I can't say I've ever noticed them with wing mirrors missing or being keyed etc.

I actually had my old car keyed on a matchday at the JJB, but it'd be daft to suggest that it was owt to do with the Centurions sticker in the back.

Given the huge scrote population we have in this country, I can only say that these things happen and there isn't a lot to be done to defend against it.
