We all know exactly whats going to happen now with Sam, we'll play the Aussies in the 4 nations, he wont score a hat trick and set up 9 tries and these boards will be swarming with "see, he's crap, cant do it at international level, he's one dimensional, overrated" blah blah blah, in fact, bookmark this.

Correct. Anything less than Sam single handedly DESTROYING Australia and New Zealand will result in him being increasingly barracked by the moronic minority and the trolls running wild on here. Personally, I think he's in a no win situation. At international level the biggest disadvantage Sam has that he doesn't have at club level is the coach.

Schofield was a great player who proved he was world class over a long period of time, I also think he played in a time when we had quite a lot of world class players playing over here so it was easier to see if players were actually that good but now there is only a few and we are streets behind the Aussies as opposed to the 80s/90s where most of the time we gave them a run for their money with the odd win. Its sad but when it comes to the National game he might not be as good as people think.

Sam's got an even bigger challenge than the Aussies, according to Eddie. If you listen to the commentary around the 63 minute mark he reveals that Sam is favourite for the Grand National, if he gets there. icon_eek.gif icon_eek.gif

Now there's no bigger fan of Sam than me, but I think even he may struggle to get over Becher's Brook and the Chair faster than 40 horses.... icon_lol.gif

Sam was yet again superb last night and it is frightening to think how good this lad could be. It's only his 1st full season playing at FB and only his 2nd full season in SL and he looks nailed on to be Man of Steel with performances like tonight.

I suppose its too much to ask at this moment in time and it mainly comes down to jealously, but it seems very hard for opposition fans to realise how good this player really is. We watch him week in week out, he is far from one dimensional, despite his size and what opposition fans believe to be true he is very good defensively and also improving dramatically in the air. Only need to look at the Saints Cup Semi game for evidence of that. Trust us when we say he is one hell of a player!

I have no doubt he will become one of the all time great Wigan players and fans of Super League will be able to just sit back and enjoy what this player can produce over the next ten years.

Actually your post says more about the standard of our international set up rather than Sam's own ability. Like I said above, unless he destroys the Aussies on his own you're going to think he's not as good as we think he is despite the fact he'll be playing under an inadequate coach, against a team that will be better than us in most areas.

You are joking right Schoey had eletric pace, in the GB camp they said over the first 30 he was as quick as offiah.

Re tomkin awesome talent and the stand out form player in SL, but there are a good few kids in Oz just as good! The warriors have just unveiled their new star who will be the kiwi 7 this year! Shaun Johnson! He scored a try against the broncs that was sublime! If tomkin had scored it the sky team and you pies would have shot your bolt on mass!

Tomkin is awesome no doubt. He needs to fulfill his potential and it's impossible to do that in SL
