That's actually a more exciting team then a full strength outfit would be because we know what guys like Tomkins and Leuluai can do whereas lads like Mellor, Powell and Logan Tomkins are a bit unknown.

I think it's very interesting to see those 3 starting the game. Is it possible it's a shoot out for one bench between those lads? I certainly think there's room for one of them if they have a stand out pre season.

that matthew russel is one to look out for hes always the stand out perfomer for the reserves, hes got speed that kid he will be giving tomkins a run for his money this year or next

On Radio Merseyside last night Wane said that Mellor was on the bench, so I would expect too see Russell starting at fullback.

Very pleased for Tom Spencer. I think he'll probably go out on dual reg but is certainly another one to keep a close watch on.

I'm looking forward to seeing gelling play this weekend. As others have said I hope wane swaps goulding and gelling around, I'd like to see a bit of a partnership built between gelling and charnley.

These pre-season warm up games could well act as a play-off between Goulding and Gelling for who get's the other centre spot. We know Carmont's guaranteed his place.
