Imagine Ellis, Burgess, O'Loughlin, Mossop added to that team with Widdop and Reed having another full season of NRL rugby under their belts - the future appears to be much brighter than I first thought.'"
here here we have got the makings of a good team, but we have had enough of gallant losers been there before. If we are in front in the last 12 minutes thats when they are at their most dangerous

| An England Four Nations win, for me, be worth more than winning the grand final for the next ten years.
As the OP says, I've seen Wigan do it all, but I've never seen my country win anything other than the odd test match. It's about time we won a final, and what a boost it would provide for the World Cup campaign. Not only to finally get this hoodoo off our backs, but also to give us confidence that we could back it up with another tournament win.

My greatest ever day as an RL fan was being in Melbourne when we beat the Aussies in 1992, and were so close to winning that series. IF and its a big IF we can win on Saturday then
'"
I was 16 then as I watched it on the TV in utter disbelief. I've always said that if I could go back in time and witness just one RL game from the past, it would be that one.

| I am just about old enough to remember
The Invincibles coming over in 82' and wiping the floor with us,
Going to the 3rd test at CP in 86' is one of my greatest early memories as young kid,
Getting up at daft o'clock in 88' to watch GB win the 3rd test in Sydney
Going to all 3 test matches in 90' (we should have had the series wrapped up at OT)
These were without doubt right up there with the Manly WWC, Wembley 85', Wembley 8 in a row, 2010 Grand Final etc
For me if England were to beat the Aussies it would mean just as much if not a little more than the above.
After going to OZ last year for the 4 nations I know full well how the Aussies view our game over here and to stick one over them would be fantastic.
The effect it could have on the game over here could be huge if we get the right people in to take advantage of the publicity it would create.
C'MON ENGLAND!!!!!

| people moan on here daily at the state of the game in this country, how the RFL don't do anything to make it any better, yet these same people are saying that an England win would be great for the game, how will it be great for the game?, if we win the RFL will do bugger all more to try a fix what's broken as they will think everything is A ok, we need another good tonking IMO, the RFL needs to be shamed into improving club Rugby which inturn will improve international rugby

Yeah, because all the other tonkings we've had from the Aussies have done exactly that.

Did you say the same about Wigan in 2009 when Noble took us to the SF at saints. A win and a trip to the GF may have kept him in a job. Would you have wanted Wigan to get a tonking before that game?
I see your point that there is a lot still to fix, but any success and a huge boost for the 2013WC would be very welcome.

| I reckon we'll have a full squad with Ellis coming back in for Carvell.
Wilkin and JJB were excellent on Saturday.

If we don't play 4 props on Saturday we may as well give the trophy to Aus before the game rather than after.

I thought that, but JJB had a better impact than Carvell did against NZ.
Don't forget against Australia at Wembley we were without Ellis and Graham in the 2nd half, if we can have them for the full 80 this time round it will be a whole lot different.
