| I can understand the frustration of everyone at the moment, it's clear to everyone bar the board that something needs to be done and there was talk that he had stepped down from a previously excellent source. My feeling is the club have had a word in an attempt to calm it down although that's been denied. A number of the more active/negative posters have been seemingly banned too.

I wouldn't say Percival is in his prime. Still a very good player when fir, of course, but injuries and his style of play have definitely left their mark.
Taking nothing away from him but I think a player in their prime can't, by definition, be injured as regularly as Percival is.
Agree with you there, he is on the downward curve although to be fair was superb last night. He has been used as a battering ram for years and is most certainly injury prone. Also agree with our set up. We have very few 22-28 aged players, Welsby and Lees being the only ones of note. We either have ageing players past their best- Lomax, Walmsley, Paasi, Clark, Sironen, Percival etc or ones who are very young with potential- Whitby, Robertson, Dagnall, Stephens. It's the 22-28 age range we desperately need. Signing Josh Papali'i is not going to help with that.

| On another note, Wigan and Saints will now face each other at Wembley for the first time in the women's cup final (got my tickets). I would have had significant worries over this game in recent seasons but, given the manner of Wigan's victory over Leeds on Saturday, I am now thinking this will be competitive, though Saints will deservedly start as favourites. Great progress thus far under Denis Betts and hopefully this will see the big three become a big four in the women's game.

Saw something the other day on facebook that the old Edge Hall Road training facility has finished being renovated now and will be open soon for both Latics and Wigan RL's women to use. Seems Danson is investing in Women's sport and we are starting to see the pay off from that now with the Women's first team, it was a very convincing performance from the Wigan Women on Saturday, much sharper and more organised than when i have caught their games previously. Hopefully now they are getting full use of their new training facilities we will see them progress further over the next few years.

| The women's team looked great on Saturday - far too physical and quick for Leeds who look to have gone back a step. Wigan were maybe a little behind the curve with on the women's side for a few years but definitely looks like they'll be the team to beat in the coming years now the pathways have come together alongside a handful of recruits.

| There were plenty rumours around that Wellens had left Saints. One said by mutual consent. Nothing of course from the club. Perhaps we'll find out soon if that's the case. Today perhaps they'll have their Pressy for Thursday's home game. Normally a head coach slot. If Wellens does the press conference and is on the gantry for the game then surely he's still in post. Should someone else do the P.C. then who knows what's happening.

He's definitely still in post (somehow). Plenty of furore last week but that seems to have died down and he did some press work last week.

| Welsby out for 16 weeks, that's basically Saints done for the season.

Shame for Welsby but as for Saints, oh well... After Wilkins breakdown due to the Murphy no try decision against HKR a suicide watch might be needed or at least an intervention following this bad news. If you criticise Saints are you Antisaintmetic?

| Shame for Welsby and very bad news for Welsby. He was just getting back into form after being moved back to his best position.
I always thought he would be a better 6 but I think this season has confirmed that FB is his best spot - and for England a combination of Smith, Williams and Welsby in those key positions looks like our best combination.
Is there still a chance he can make the Ashes - it looks pretty tight....

i think Will Pryce would be a good alternative if Welsby isnt fit. Seems to be going well at Hull.
