| I'm a big Gelling fan and have defended him this season but tonight was woeful. I would drop him next week.

| I've defended him for years but I can't this year. There's being a comedian and then there's being a clown! You need to earn the right to act the fool mid match and he ain't. M
The away game at Cas summed his year up perfectly. Awfully defence to concede a try then gave him and stepped off the field in the motion of the second being scored.
He needs a kick up the backside.

Warrington led 16-2 in Saturday's Grand Final, but their joy was short-lived as Wigan roared back to win the Super League title and extend the Wire's 58-year wait to be champions:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_10174.png |

| Absolute turnstile in defence, he needs dropping immediately. Burgess & Gildart at centre and Davies & Manfredi / Marshall to the wings. He was lucky to get away with punting the ball after stoppage in play too

| I agree Gelling's showing was pretty indefensible, but he wasn't the only one. and if we do drop him, please God not Burgess to centre again; that just doesn't work.

I'm not saying drop him because we have a better replacement, it's more for a kick up his ass!Maybe even but Bateman there for a bit.
I think he's a good player and has the attributes to be a top player, his defence has always been pretty good and his ability to make yards has been his strongest attribute but this year they've been lacking. I guess he's got an injury and if so he shouldn't be playing even if we are thin at centre.

| I would rather see Davies at centre with Manfredi on his flank for the remainder of the season and happily allow Gelling to join Widnes or wherever will have him...spend the remainder of this season working with Davies at centre and pending a full pre-season give him the #3 shirt!
I would also make it very clear to Burgess that his performances need to improve, I for one am hoping Marshall gets a chance to play outside of Gildart before seasons end...I can see him scoring a few trys.
Also did I hear correctly last night that Phil Clarke believes Liam Sutcliffes best position is left centre?

| I guess we don't don't know whether Davies has it in him to make a successful centre. What is for sure is that based on his performances, he certainly doesn't deserve to be dropped, for Manfredi or anyone else.

Yes, agreed. I said the same on another thread. I've never been a Gelling hater, but on recent performances he just doesn't deserve a place in the side.

| Davies, Lockers and Gildart are the first names on the sheet at the moment. These players cannot be dropped. Everyone else has a lot to prove. Even the ever dependable Bateman has been alarmingly quiet for the past few games.Gelling and Ganson were abysmal in defence last night as were a few others. I am going to go easy on Sam as in the past few games he has started showing glimpses again, little dummies here and there. Looks like he is putting it together a bit but when everyone in front of you keep giving penalties away, putting up garbage kicks and letting attacking players walk through them what is he supposed to do?
Just to add :- FPN, an absolute disgrace to the shirt. Somebody please sign him so we can get a prop who can make yards, tackle and is a little more disciplined.

| I've been saying it for a while now, Burgess needs dropping - and more than Gelling. He offers nothing, I can see why the Roosters didnt give him a gig. Never wants to take his man on the outside, falls off tackles, not making the metres. I'd drop him for Manfredi and let that be it for the season. Gelling is in a bad run of form, but is moving our (arguably) best second rower to centre really the answer?

| Why are we acting like 3 changes are going to fix everything? Our entire front row is awful and our game plan is to be boring and completely disregard our attacking threats. Leeds showed us how to play to your strengths, yet we seem insistent on 5 drives from our weak pack then a crap kick from deep by half backs who can't kick.

| Agreed. I would say we have a glaring hole at scrum half and our prop forwards are a huge question mark for next season:
1. Tomkins
2. Manfredi
3. Gelling (thin ice)
4. Gildart
5. Davies
6. Williams
7.
8. Flower
9. McIlorum
10. Tautai
11. Bateman
12. Farrell
13. O'Loughlin (one last year?)
14. Leuluai (Get rid or use as cover for 6/7/9)
15. Sutton (is he really good enough?)
16. Clubb (one last year?)
17. Isa

Escare to FB, Tomkins to the halves, an 80 min hooker and surely to god there's a big metre making prop out there somewhere who won't get homesick after a fortnight.
A centre who can draw his man and pass would be nice as well.
