| Quote: WiganBurt "during and immediately after the match my opinion of Tomkins' performance was pretty shoddy, but having read all of these comments I can see the truth in the arguments in his favour too...
however, he has had 3 seasons or so now working with the likes of MM, TL and MH who are all great hookers in my opinion on their day, but Logan doesn't seem to be picking up off them and never has shown any real potential. he has had many chances to prove his worth but in fairness he hasn't had a good run of games either. Being in for 3 games is all well and good due to a ban but as soon as MM is available again he'll be back in the doldrums and that can't help his progression.
I honestly can't see where he is going to fit in the team over the next few years and as many have said on here, fair play to him, but he just hasn't got enough for Wigan, perhaps even a few lesser teams.
he suffers from being a "Tomkins" yes, but I have always argued that joel was the most talented and had the most potential out of the three anyway. and whether he was a Tomkins or not my opinion of him wouldn't be any different.
hopefully he can put in a couple of good performances but I can't see him shining against Wire - I'd love it to happen though!!
I'm happy to get behind him and give him a chance, I'm just doubtful he can deliver.'"
He had a superb game there last year, probably his best for Wigan.

| How can we judge Logan when he hardly ever starts?
He started off slowly v HKR but picked up when the game had been going a while.
I reckon his quick shoot from dh put the team on the front foot for the Farrell try.
The HKR right defence was caught with one player moving up and another staying in the line.
The 9 these days is the busiest man on the field and he proved it with 47 or so tackles and he didn't do the 80.
To critisise him on his first start and just four games in is over the top IMO.

yes I think I remember Wane claiming moral victory despite the result!
lets hope he can replicate some good form in MMs absence. at the end of the day I'm more than happy to be proved wrong about him, and any other player I may have negative opinions on for that matter.
believe!

| Cracking performance again, missed him massively when he went off especially his delivery, fronted up physically tonight too.
Williams showed some nice touches but he must work on his passing.

| Tomkins was very good tonight. He had a very similar game to last year and played the conditions very well.
Impressed with Williams also (especially in defence) apart from one shocking pass on the last tackle to Smith that he knocked on.
Good options.

| Yup he stepped up tonight, he must hate Warrington, that's two great games he's had against them now.

| McIlorum's ban will be a blessing in disguise. MM is such a durable player and Logan is doing fine given a rare starting spot.

| Good performance from Logan. He was quick into dummy half, his decision making was good and he tackled well too. He's unlikely to just have a brilliant season out of nowhere, he'll continue to improve gradually and become more consistent until he reaches his best.

| The Warrington game was the best performance that I have seen from Logan by a country mile. I have to say that I have never been that impressed by him previously and didnt think he would have much of a future at Wigan but a few more games like that will certainly change that view.

| It's sad sometimes that some people on this board are so very quick to be critical. The lad is living under the shadow of his brothers to some extent, and playing in a position thats at the heart of the action. He is still young, and does an acceptable job in my eyes... He can only get better. MM, when new, was constantly slated on here, probably by those who now laud him.

I have to say I was very critical of MM but because he deserved it. When he first made the 17 he was very one dimensional, it's a credit to the coaching staff and him that he has become a much more balanced player.
Logan is in the same boat for me. He has struggled and looked poor at times in the past, but every year he has improved. At the start of the year I actually expected him and Crosby to be our "bolters" this year, and whilst not as yet achieving that I think he has really played well so far and is becoming an asset rather than a liability that he once was.

Thankfully, those in the know, know more that we do... I enjoy watching how young players adapt and grow, it's all a part of the pleasure of watching for me....

he did everything a good hooker should do.....passed, ran and passed, scooted when the chance was there, and tackled anything that moved.
Its a confidence thing. Getting some rare starts is showing the doubters what he can do.
His tackling more text book than big hits, but that will come when he bulks up.
I'm quite happy to let him develop as Maccas understudy, and one day i reckon the roles will reverse
