Should we turn it into missed tackles per game for him as well?
James Roby = Missed tackles per game = 1.00
Michael Monaghan = Missed tackles per game = 2.04

| Some comments on this site are ridiculous...
James Graham and James Roby have done more than anyone in Superleague this year. Their full Stats put all others to shame. Compare their work rate in defence and attack. They have been superb. Roby especially. They have done more metres than Richards, put in about 8 times more tackles than Richards, I could go on and on. Saying that I am not so tainted with my own club to call Richards, he is a super player, especially in attack. But anyone who actually plays Rugby will know what I am saying about the Work rate of Jammer and Robes. 2nd to none. Both put the bodies on line all season, both worthy of Man of Steel this year "again" The energy and defence of both James is simply Robotic...
Myself I think Sam Tomkins has been massive for you, he put in effort in defence too, elsewhere Westwood and Morley, Maybe Cunningham could get a respect vote from the players...

| If Cunningham gets MOS over someone like Richards or Morley, I won't be happy.

I ask you this then... Do you think Richards has done anything like the work rate of Jammer or Robes? Would they not be worthy?
As for Cunningham, lets be honest he should have won it sometime in his career, all I am saying is I bet a lot of players, including some Wigan players will feel that and it is his last year and they get the vote.

MoS isn't about workrate, neither is it a sympathy vote.

He gets through more work than any other winger i know, he usually takes a few drives down the middle every set. He does not tackle much because they know he is such a strong tacker and dont run at him
Stats are very misleading, especially when players are in different positions
All that matters for me is
29 tries, 3rd overall in super league between 1996-2010
388 points matching Farrells record haul
134 goals, a record by a massive margin this year
Has made the 3rd most meters in super league this season

So we agree Roby and Graham have put in a huge amount more in work rate?
Lets say its about Tries scored.... Then Richards has been a try scoring sensation... agreed. If its Impact I say Sam Tomkins been better in my eyes than Richards.

Of course they have; they're forwards. As already mentioned, you can't compare different positions - no winger is ever going to top the tackle count, for example.

It is about impact, and I'd be tempted to agree with you about Sam.

| It will be interesting to see who the Players pick?
I think most players will realise the amount of more effort that a forward puts in... Will a workhorse get the vote rather than a try scorer? no idea tbh, but time will tell? If impact I stand by S Tomkins for you lot.
