How about 'Needles Cunningham'?
Or even the Long Family and their 'herbal remedies'?'"
Alleged Also come on, you couldnt class Cunningham or Long as dirty players.

| Ganson had already blown for a pen as Lockers was offside.
I don't think he saw it.
IMO took advice from the TJ & MC.
Ganson got the most important decision of the night right.
We can all think of some refs who'd have bottled it and put it on report.

To be fair his attitude as a headline brabber ensured Howell walked, but the same attitude also ensured he very pettily in my opinion walked Tomkins.

No, Dont get me wrong I'm well aware of that. Ask Jukesays about my feelings on Mr Long! Just glad two of his partners in crime now play for you and Salford respectively!

| Having just watched the replay, and something I didn't notice when watching it earlier, Howells last run with the ball ended with a tackle involving Tompkins where Howell at one point upside down and on his head (his own not Tompkins). From the subsequent wide angle shot it seemed that Howell was holding himself when he got up as if he had bean hurt in the tackle.
Not making excuses for Howell, in fact far from it (I think he shouldn't play again until August at the earliest), but any niggle in the previous tackle may explain his disgraceful 'attack' on Tompkins.
I also thought Sam Tompkins was lucky to avoid at least a talking to for dropping his elbow into Howells head whilst Howell was on the ground.

Its Tomkins.
I agree to a certain extent on the last post Tomkins actions while Howell was on the ground were not something he should be proud of. To be on the recieving end of a challenge like that was bad though, and while i do not excuse Sam's actions of retaliation i can in part understand them, but it was very silly of him to get back involved.

| Having watched the replay it is one of the worst I've seen and reminds me of the Mick Cassidy challenge on Adrian Morley from 1998 at Central Park.

| Wigan coach Brian Noble was pleased with his side's effort after crushing Harlequins 40-12 in the engage Super League.
The Warriors ran in eight tries at the JJB Stadium as the Londoners crumbled after the sending off of David Howell.
The centre was dismissed just after the half-hour mark, with Quins already trailing 14-6, for a dangerous head-high shot on Sam Tomkins.
Noble saidMy eyesight's not so good - I can't quite see the screen - but it certainly looked like a forearm or an elbow."
That bit in bold might explain some of our poor showings this season

| I've just seen the "incident" on SSN, absolutrly shocking, a full swinging elbow aimed at sam, very nasty, i'd expect a very minimum of 5 matches and should be more, was sam ok?

| Worse than Newtons IMO and he got a 10 motnh ban which I did think was a bit extortionate. Would expect at least a 6 game ban though but knowing the RFL he'll probably get three with him not being a 'big name player'.

Although the damage was not as bad i agree the incident was up there with Newtons. Newton lead with the forearm, Howell simply threw an elbow to the jaw.
