| Me....season ticket since 1994......this year? nope!..... watched 2 home games all season, CBA going last Friday night and CBA going next week either....I'd rather watch Pats these days, but I will be back at some point (waits for the lynching posse) but not next year.

| We win the grand final and I bet a lot if people will come back. After winning it in 2010, if I remember rightly, attendances went up.

I had a season ticket since 88 didnt bother this year as its boring now and id rather spend my time with my family as opposed to the gamebeing over by half time. However my high score on angry birds has taken a tumble as that was my second half entertainment most weeks.
Nothing to do with cant afford it as well im minted like you and also too hate the rest of the peasants!
Can i have a medal also?

At least they can't use the Thursday excuse for not getting a season ticket next year. No doubt the "can't afford it" one will come back out though.'"
What a fookin you are! No season ticket for me and the wife this year due to redundancy, or should I have made a St more of a priority than food on the table?
I now have a job, but still no ST next year due to working nights in this new role. I will be there Saturday if thats ok with tw@s like you as I don't work saturday nights.
More than happy to have a discussion with you F2F by the busby statue on Saturday, lets see if you have the guts to slag off the less fortunate then. Bring plenty of money.... Food in salford royal is rank but maccies is near by and I'm sure someone will go get you some.

Get rid of Monday night Thursday night games. .'"
Same things happening at most places. At Warrington the biggest drop in attendance is in the away end. Hasn't been anywhere near full all season, even for games against Stains, Widnes or yourselves. People just aren't travelling to away games in the numbers they did - Our (wire) travelling support is well down on the last few seasons. Two of the lads I normally travel with haven't been to any away games this season because of losing their jobs last year. I expect lower attendances are partly to do with stupid scheduling but mainly down to the simple fact money is tight.

Yes money is tight, but it hasn't affected football attendances as much.
Rugby League prices are pretty reasonable especially for kids/students/OAPs. I'd like to see concessions for the low-waged - but how the club would administer that I've no idea.
For me part of the problem is the way the competition has been devalued by the 8 team playoff. The league season now means nothing as Leeds proved winning from 5th and we will prove by winning from 4th. It makes games in July and August meaningless if you've already qualified. The Saints away game was a good example. No-one was really that bothered by the defeat at the time and it proved to be meaningless in the context of the season. At least the old playoff system guaranteed some benefit to coming 1st or 2nd.
So I blame the RFL and Sky for devaluing the league. However, that then doesn't explain why the playoff attendances are so poor. Getting 15,600 for Friday's game, the biggest home game of the season was a poor effort. There will be 30,000 Wigan followers at OT paying about twice as much.

Correct it's not my business. And that's why I'm not slagging off anyone. My point is I'm sick of reading posts on here about why people can't get to games. Bores the hell out of me but they feel the need to justify themselves to people they've never met on here.

| Bottom line is the club aren't that bothered about losing a few games in the regular season because the current system means the overall aim is not affected and some clubs don't present any form of challenge to our first choice 17. On that basis fans will also decide which games they don't mind missing and they may also decide they don't need to commit to attending every home game in the same way the club don't have to commit to playing their strongest 17 to win every home game. You reap what you sow I'm afraid.
What did surprise me is the number of ST holders that normally sit around me that didn't bother turning up on Friday. A game we obviously wanted to win, against tough opposition, with a decent away following and the last home game until February.

I have never ever agreed with you before, but that statement is absolutely spot on. I am sick and tired of some RL supporters wanting something for nothing. It's exactly the same at Wire, people constantly moaning. The same people are always at the front of the queue when it comes to finals.

| Quote: Lippy "After the we wish him well bit and does not blame him for going to test himself he blamed the other clubs for not being competitive enough to give us a league that is more attractive. He named games against Salford and Widnes where players know they don't have to play at full intensity to win. He blamed the clubs and not the RFL as its them who have to take lessons from how Wigan treat the U19 and other age groups and how it puts you in good stead. If more clubs invested in youth the league would be more competitive and then players would be less likely to want to go and test them self in a better league.
He is right, more competitive games will generate more interest from fans, sponsorship and give the game more power when discussing TV rights.'"
Did he say what you have written in the last sentence there or is that your conclusion? I agree by the way but the reason I ask is if he didn't he's missing the obvious in that even if Widnes etc were more competitive unless the money flows into the game and into the players pockets they will still leave.
While its also interesting he blamed the clubs and I don't disagree with that, I don't think we are blame-free as a club either. We let players leave without much of a fight and so are thus contributing to any lowering of standards in the game. There has been a thread recently where it was suggested our chairman's apparent wish to be a big fish in a small pond was as far the ambition went and I don't think we can seriously blame other clubs for Sam's departure given the nature of the contract he signed. Sam might very well think the sport here is not competitive enough but it is IMO a bit of a cop out to use that as an excuse for Sam's departure. It's almost as if he is saying our best players may as well follow suit which is the wrong message. Has the clubs management raised the white flag in attempts to have the best players here and are they trying to blame others for this?
