Genuinely never heard that as a rule before, when I watched it back I was looking to see if someone attacked his knee etc, thought it was fine but obviously unfortunate

Using your weight is fine, its dropping your full weight so you're not in control of the tackle. I don't think it was malicious but it was poor technique that resulted in an injury.

Didn't we have Ben Flower or Tony Clubb done for it too a few seasons back? I think the rule has been around for a while. |
