| I didn't have a prob with what he did; it just made me smile, and that seemed to be the reaction of most Wigan fans. Daft thing was, why did Bentham let him take the kick anyway with the Wigan players just a few yards in front of the kicker? He should have insisted they move back.

Bet Don Fox wishes some crack pot had ran at his effort

Don Fox died a few years ago so we will never know.
Difference is Don Fox was a top player with intelligence & a good rugby league brain.
Gelling is an average player who is basically thick. No wonder he fits in well with your coach.

Well last nights Don Fox would have been Corey Parker so not sure what you're getting at other then being yet another idiot coming on this board trying to set up petty arguments.
Plenty of it about at the moment.

| I like Gelling, big, powerful and fits SW's game plan to a tee.
Needs to get his passing game to Charnley sorted which he will and will be a character in SL which is something we are missing these days.
Only him in SL would ever have thought of charging down the kick. Corey Parker's face was a picture! I've only seen Brian Carney do that in recent times when at Salford.
Karl Kirkpatrick was killing himself laughing when binning Carney after he did it.
Gelling certainly made me laugh when he did the charge down.

| Read an interview today where he said he had three things going through his mind-
Charging it down
Shaking the sticks
Throwing a spare ball at Corey Parker
Ha ha. The blokes nuts! Like you say Ted the game lacks characters so he's refreshing.
He's a cracking young player as well. Big and strong, decent pace and a big heart. He's the type who's handling will take a while to get going but he'll be fine.

When he charged at the ball I would have loved to have seen him gather it and go the length of the field, what's the odds that one or two of the Brisbane players would have given chase.

Where's the stats for how wide he can leave a barn door open?

| Am I not right in thinking that charging down a place kick is still allowed in Rugby Union although only for a conversion not for a penalty. Incidentally I thought the penalty was a bit harsh.

| I'm just not a Gelling fan.
Can't knock his commitment or work rate but he's one dimensional.
The reason why he makes yardage is that we haven't got the big guys to do the heavy work when we are in our own half.
If this is how we want to play then sell Charnley as he is waste of salary cap at the moment due to lack of passes. Reminds me of when we had Dallas - great winger but never gets the chance to show it.
I'd like to see him the second row but if SW thought he would be better there then I'm sure we would have seen this before now.
My points may seem illogical but I just don't want to see centres trundling the ball in on every occasion they get the ball.
