Quote FearTheVee="FearTheVee"Yes he did. Noble was, however, at Wigan for much of the 2006 season then the whole 2007, 2008 and 2009 seasons. His remit changed over that time and by the end of his tenure was nothing like what you outline above - it was to win trophies.
Potter has had a season and a half and in that time has reached the grand final and blooded lots of promising young players. We sit 2 points off the top of the table despite a fairly ropey time with injuries this year and we're in some good form. It looks like Potter will not get the opportunity to build upon what he is doing at the moment.
Noble had that opportunity and made little of it. That is the difference.'"
But who's to say Potter will do anything in the remaining 6 months of his tenure?
Noble took a team that were a shambles and got them to 3rd 3 years in a row. I agree that final Year was the Big Test and he came up slightly short, but then again so did Potter! A Big defeat in the Semi and then only a close defeat of what a lot of your fans call a "Poor Wigan" team in the GF semi actaully got you to a Final.
So Has Potter "Improved" St Helens? It was only 3 weeks ago a lot of the Saints fans were saying how it was the most Boring Rugby Blah Blah Blah they had Seen in 20+ Years!
