It's amazing how educated some people can be without ever getting more intelligent.

| agree stu.......none more inconsistent than last weeks game at Odsal.
£5 for kids if you bought from warriors..........£13 on the day.
12 quid for an oap to sit in comfort at wigan......13 quid to stand at odsal in the rain
prices need to be structured pro rata with the stadium facilities imo......having said that.....they would probably hike the price up at Wigan

Neither, someone who would rather forego a "large" salary in order to actually make a difference/inspire children. Much rather earn a teacher's salary and make a difference than have a soul destroying job trying to earn some faceless corporation millions in profit.

You aren't writing your application anymore, so you can cut the b/s. If you really think you are going to 'make a difference' then you need your head testing.

No bull. Having a bit of experience in teaching already I can tell you now that teachers can and do make a difference to their pupils' lives.

You know, I got all edimudicated one day. And guess what, it was my parents and my teachers that did this. I take it you got you qualifications through the education system full of teachers? Then went off to uni and got educated by un-trained teachers to finally go an do some research into something very important for a PhD? BTW you never did mention what it was for.
So, without teachers please tell me where you would be in life? You have qualifications, but intelligence I would say not. I would reccomend you try a course in humility, one you seem to have missed preferring to work on arrogant and contemptuous qualifications.
That sad thing is, I can't even blame your attitude on you being a cocksure 18 year old.

The difference is I never went about bitching that I had to pay full price for something. As an adult, regardless of the type of job/position I have, I expect to pay the asking price. Moreover, if saving £3 to get into the rugby is such a massive saving, then I would suggest that the person should not be attending the rugby at all. Instead they should be saving their cash, as they are obviously rather stretched financially.

Haven't a clue.
But that is not the point is it though. The point is that a lot (if not the majority) of teachers are only doing the job as they could not get a role in private industry.

Really? I would love to see your reference material which support this. Are you basing your view on "those who can't, teach"?
A friend of mine from school went through GCSEs, lowest mark A. A-Levels, all As. Degree 1st Class. He then chose to become a teacher directly from Uni without looking at work outside of teaching. Do you think he would have failed to get a role? Maybe he is a statistical blip, but then I look at my wife. She has a Masters Degree and is very succesful in work but looks back on life and wishes that she had considered becomming a teacher and not because of lack of oppertunity.

| My debate on ticket prices has been sabotaged by some arrogant individual talking down to everyone about his PhD?!! If you are an academic you havent referenced or backed up your argument very well at all and need to provide some objectivity to balance it out, however you will already know this....
Why shouldnt students, OAP's and Juniors get cheaper prices? Again back your argument up with evidence!!
Clubs need to provide a price for all markets in order to attract different people of all demographic and socio economic backgrounds in order to maximise revenue. By Saints not doing this they are missing an important segment.
The solution is for all clubs to price according to stadia facilities etc. Angela Powers did a good piece on Boots n All about value for money two years ago.

| Back on the original point, I don't see how you can possibly ever have consistent pricing in Rugby League, or any sport for that matter. Every club will be gaining its income through the same channels but in varying degrees, for example Wigan's merchandising may well bring in far more than most teams, our sponsorship will bring in more than most so we can afford a lower ticket price. Elsewhere that income may well have to come primarily through tickets hence the higher price.
BTW I'm 6'15" 22st 19ounces and built like a brick outhouse and have 4 PhD's and an LSD. I also have a neighbour who wouldn't get out of bed for £52k but that's cos he's a lazy .

| I agree, unless all stadia were built on the same value land, with the same costs and same revenue then I just don't see how this would work unless a salary cap like Americal Football has was implemented.
Who would like to pay the same at all games knowing that the larger clubs have to subsidise the smaller clubs? Given the majority of fans don't travel it's not something that most even care about.

Gotta love people who are insecure enough to brag about qualifications and wages to strangers on an internet rugby forum
