Roby wins - "this has no credibility, the players' award went to Barrett and they know best!"
MoS changes to a players' vote - "absolutely right, Roby was the final straw!"
If Cunningham wins MoS - "the players were wrong, this has no credibility, the press voted for Richards and they know best!"'"
It should be voted for by players, but if they do vote for Cunningham this year it will be mainly be down to the fact they're acknowledging that it's his final year before hanging up his boots and not for his performances.
Do you agree?

Well there wouldnt be any credibility as KC doesnt deserve to win the MoS just because its his final year. There are plenty of worthy winners ahead of KC. As ive said before this isnt a sentimental award.

I agree entirely, but it's the system Wigan fans said would eliminate any wrong decisions because "the players know best".
It's not a big point anyway since there's no way Cunningham will win it.
It would be worth it just to see Fishsta combust anyway.

thats not what has been said though is ? i think all fans across the board would agree that barratt deserved MOS the year roby won. The RFL knew they'd dropped a b0llock hence the change. the original post i made was questioning whether the players out of respect would vote cunningham MOS out respect for a fantastic career. Players have been listed from various clubs including saints and wire who would be worth winners as they have had exceptional seasons this year. i havent read a post on here saying that if pat doesnt win it then the decision is wrong. The point stated is that the credibility of the award would be questioned if cunningham won above other players that imo deserve it more. Nowhere did i see it questioned that the way of voting is wrong, it was simple question of " do you think the players out of respect would vote for him" nothing more.

We weren't wrong though.
There aren't many supporters from all clubs who will disagree that the players are the people best people to decide the MOS and that a mistake was arguably made in 2008.
This year we just happen to have a long-serving Super League legend ending his career which may influence players votes.
If for example Morley receives it, I'd have no complaints.

| Martin Sadler in the Rugby Leaguer & League Express, page 9, says that "Cunningham must be the Man of Steel". He goes on to say "And could anyone who watched Saturday nights match doubt that he deserves the award in his final season".
Well yes me for one.
Players voting for MOS is the best way but i cant see how they would not vote for either Richards, who deserves it, or Morley.

It was voted for before Saturday, so it will make no difference.

| Cunningham does not deserve man of steel this year and it would make a complete joke of the system if he did.
I do however believe that he should get some sort of special recognition reward.

That'd be fitting.
Never MOS for this season in a million years, but he's been a great servant to the game.

| You also have to remember that players are not allowed to vote for their own team mates in the MOS vote.
