Warrington led 16-2 in Saturday's Grand Final, but their joy was short-lived as Wigan roared back to win the Super League title and extend the Wire's 58-year wait to be champions:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_10174.png |

To be fair, how long has it been since GB produced a scrum half as good as Sean Long? It was no co-incidence that he was in the halves last time we beat the aussies in their backyard. You will never see rugby league players owning top boutiques or seen with page 3 models because we aren't a glamarous sport. I can't stand him from what I've heard about him as a person but you can't deny that he was a brilliant player.

Murphy's a bit before my time, and there's some relevance in that. It's generally accepted that defences and fitness levels today are a lot stronger than they once were due to SL going professional, the introduction of 4 subs and technological improvements to aide training regimes, game analysis etc. When I look back at games from the 80's and early 90's it looks like a different sport at times. Point being you can't accurately compare scrum halves from two different eras. Long was the best british scrum half by a mile for at least a decade and I think he still would be now if age, injuries and a dodgy lifestyle hadn't caught up with him.

the £2k a month that you were paying him to come back might have been a clue to the answer to that one.

Mr Gleeson springs to mind, not to mention Agent Millward.

| Aye the two worst coaches in Wigan history IMO, Ian Millward and Eric Hughes, and what did they have in common (actually I can think of a couple of things, allegedly of course )
