| The question that should be asked is does the club have £2m to pay Dave Whelan.
What happens if we can't pay him?
Will we end up with a winding up petition issued by Whelan to try and get his money?
It would be nice if Ian Lenagan would come out and explain the situation. Wonder if the reason the fans forum was cancelled is so that difficult questions such as this could not be asked.

| For me the big question is why is our revenue so low? I suspect the fees for matchday use are the tip of the iceberg and that very little revenue generated at the stadium on matchdays gets into the hands of the RL club, meaning that the stadium is actually a lot more expensive than 180k....

Where are you getting this info from? I can't see anything.

Just can't believe that revenue would be only £4.6m unless the club doesn't get to keep all of the ticket and corporate/hospitality revenue generated on matchdays.
Very rough calculations but 15 matches x 15,000 x £12 = £2.7m turnover. That leaves less than £2m to be covered by Sky payments, merchandising, programme sales, sponsorship etc.

I always thought the rent for both clubs was 10% of the match day income, but then I also thought we had a longer lease so have been known to be wrong!

Well I doubt whether they would be allowed to net off income in the way you suggested. Does seem low though I agree.

Not sure what's going on, but I'm missing something!
Anyone know how the £4.6m breaks down? I'd be very interested to see a breakdown of the numbers into different revenue streams. I'm still surprised that a club with nearly 16k average attendance has less than £5m turnover.

| I still feel the concerning issue here is do we, as a club, have £2m available to settle this debt.
What happens if the debt becomes overdue?
Is there any security held by Whelan for the debt, for instance, could he re-possess the training ground at Orrell?
Anyone got any answers?

| That will have been covered at the shareholders meeting last month. If anyone who posts on here went, please explain.

Exactly. If Wigan had their own stadium, or even 50% owned the DW Stadium, then match day revenue would be much more. I have often thought that the deal isnt anywhere near as good as is made out.

Leveraged buyout?

| As it's due to be repaid by 30 November 2010 I wonder if any of this is linked to the "massive" announcement?
