| Exactly. What are they doing drinking when they were in uniform and supposed to be collecting? Why were they the only two collectors at the game? Why din't they stand on the Duggy bridge like all other charity collectors do? Finaly when my mate was pointing them out to the stewards as they made off with their buckets of loot the word they looked somewhat nervous.

[quote="Headingley Rhino"]Great win yesterday at our place, there is no denying you are probably the best team in SL as you have proved it all year so I think it's justice done that you have got to Old Trafford. I thought wigan was excellent in the second half and showed why you guys are top dogs this year.: |

| That is the trouble with these things, you can never be quite sure if people are genuine or not. It is absolutely disgusting if true.

Romain Navarrete: “I’m very happy to have signed for Wigan Warriors. As soon I knew that Wigan were interested, they were the only team that I wanted to sign for. To me, Wigan is the biggest Club in Rugby League and it will be an honour to pull on the famous Cherry-and-White jersey next year. I look forward to working with Shaun Wane and the players at Wigan.”:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_10172.jpg |

I gave these guys a couple of quid, I hope they were legit, if not I wont be giving anything to any bucket collectors again. If it was a con though why bother making wristbands?

| Interesting this has been mentioned.
I remember thinking at the time that they didn't look anything like soldiers. Plus, they were accosting people and actually asking them for donations, which I'm pretty sure collectors for charities are not allowed to do.
That said, I only didn't give because I didn't have any change.

You're correct I've done collections for Alder Hey in the past and we were given strict instructions to just stand there and only speak to them to thank them or if they ask questions.
I'm not sure they were fake though. We had this when we were doing our collection (went round pubs in Newton) and we only had the letter of authorisation (on headed watermarked Alder Hey paper) and people kept telling us it was fake because we didnt all have a photo id cards. Do they not realise that printing such things and the lanyards etc could mean that more is spent than is collected?
I dont remember them but a dead giveaway would be the buckets they used. They're usually obliged to use a certain bucket with this lid on that secures with a special seal that is voided if removed. If they didnt have that then chances are they were fake and theyre the lowest of all scum. I hope they werent fake though because, as I've mentioned before, my friend had his leg shattered by an Afghan sniper and that money that help for heroes collect goes to good places and I would hate to see their name taken advantage of in this way.
