I doubt Soward would come unless Finch is going to St George as a replacement but I'm sure I read Finch doesn't fancy St George as his dad is there is some role and doesn't want to work under him. Also from when I've watched NRL I've never rated really rated Soward, he's an excellent goal kicker but thats all IMO. He doesn't have that good defence and there's a video on a certain video sharing site where Greg Inglis sends him flying about 3ft in the air. Would much prefer Chase to Soward and personally think Chase would be excellent at Wigan, the unpredictability of his running, Sam joining the attack out of nowhere and the offloading threat of Hock would be terrifying for the rest of the league. Just have to see what happens though but trust in the club to do whats best for the team.

The main problem for any team trying to sign Chase is being willing to match (or even come close to) the current salary he is on at Cas. The club knew that they had to pay a premium for him to stay. Top clubs don't really need (or want) to spend such as massive chunk of the salary cap on one player as there is the attraction of actually winning something!
Chase is more important to Cas than he would be to any other club, and is paid accordingly. He wouldn't be worth the same salary at the likes of Wigan or Warrington.

He's signed a new deal now I think. Couple of months ago that.

He was doing what most nrl players are gonna start doing , "oh I'm thinking of joining superleague" , So nrl team offer them a new nice fat salary

I did say that Lenegan was unlikely to openly comment about speculation. I never said anything about Wane

That doesn't mean he isn't interested it just means they've made no approach. to me that's saying they are interested but haven't done anything yet. If they weren't interested they would say they've made no approach or whatever because they aren't interested. Man utd said the same about Nick Powell (I'm a Crewe fan) and then signed him a couple weeks ago.

I would have thought that if Wigan were interested a phone call would have been made, it's not like there's much effort.

why advertise your interest and alert other clubs and then end up in a bidding war.... just do it covertly with confidentiality clauses and announce it once it is finalised

Agreed, and they wont do it publicly and they certainly wont do it for the sort of fees being mentioned for Chase.

Sam Tomkins for starters. Shaun Edwards filled the Full Back role for Wigan before becoming a truly great Half Back for Wigan and GB and there's no reason as to why Tomkins couldnt do that. Rangi Chase is overrated and would a complete waste of money for Wigan to outlay. Also thought you where after Lee Gaskell from St Helens???

I like the look of the lad Russell at fullback, could move Tomkins into the halves to accomodate this. I know Tomkins is devastating joining the line of your lot but I think he could evolve into a Benji Marshall type player. Whatever happens, we need to appreciate Sam Tomkins whilst he's here, it won't be long before RU or NRL comes calling and only then will we realise what a pleasure it as to have him play in our league. A bit like Ronaldo when he was at United, people appreciate him more now he's gone. Tomkins should be England captain for me.

Rumour is he was out on the lash Friday, 2 days before a game, so dropped. Not smart from Rangi.
