I agree on Lam's attacking team claims but even if we were the Harlem Globetrotters I would take turning it over <5m from the line above a 7 tackle set on the 20.

I agree, I’d probably go that way as well, especially when doing anything else has seemed a real struggle for Smith and Hastings but I wouldn’t claim I’m ultra attacking and have a desire to entertain. It’s that which is hurting Lam more than anything for me.

Should Williams come back I’d change my mind by the way. He would have free reign to take the attacking option close to the opposition line whenever he saw fit. There aren’t many better around the world than Williams at dabbing those kicks in to the in goal.

I do want Lam out after this year but I can understand why we are playing pretty boring rugby at the start of the year with an injury crisis in the backs. We played some alright stuff at the back end of last year when we had backs available.

The general consensus, at least on here, seems to think that way too. There will always be those who are happy with Lam has done & that's ok, but for me he's out of his depth. I think the most telling part of this is - we're top of the league and 7 from 7. If that can't mask the unhappiness and uneasiness of the fans, nothing will.

I will say however, that I'd love to see him be a coach (in the traditional sense), or an assistant to a proper head coach. That will never happen here, but I'd love to see it. If he went back to the Roosters and worked under Robinson, he'd do some great work imo.

Not everyone can be a head coach, but it doesn't mean they don't have a use. Look at Kearney as the prime example. He's back at the Storm, so they must see something in him, despite his failures at Parra and the Warriors.

Hooper is an absolute whopper!!

Josh Hodgson has leapt to his defence and put the boot in to how he’s been treated. It’s a brilliant read if people get the chance, saying what a great lad Williams is and how they all know how much him and his partner have been struggling.

Hooper should be run out of the game over there. His line about George Williams looking for a move to a club closer to the beach in the off season apparently came from a couple of people at other clubs. It must be true then! He says things like it’s gospel. ‘These are the facts” -well they’re not pal, they’re things you’ve been told by people who could be taking BS themselves.

Cameron Smith said something similar on his podcast. He said he'd spoken to a few people at the Raiders about Williams and heard nothing but good things.

He was my favourite player when he was at Wigan. Just never gave less than 100% in attack and defence and was one of the few players that when he had the ball anything could happen. Kept himself to himself on and off the pitch, just got the job done very well.

Liam Farrell has been on great form but Hastings hasn't been able to unlock that left edge like Williams did (even when Gildart and Burgess were there).

Him and Lomax are so far ahead of other English halves it's not even worth a talking about including anyone else, e.g. Widdop, Hastings.
