Nasty thug. Before smashing Tangi, he was clearly spoiling to hit someone for a good few minutes before that, third man into tackles with cheap shots etc.
Currently a big fish in a small pond. Don't think he'd fit in to our style of team play.
And finally, £350,000? Seriously? We could do so much more with that kind of cash, surely?'"
Ok, everyone has a right to their opinion but, “he’s a thug” I don’t think he is, what he did in one game does not make him Al Capone, a rush of blood, or frustration maybe, though I’m not condoning What he did. I just don’t think it makes him a thug. “A big fish in a small pond” If you mean he’s a very good player in a not so good side, fine, but that does not make him unfit to play in a very good side. Why would his style of play not fit in to the Wigan team? £350,000 what would you suggest Wigan do with this money that would help to solve the problem at the present time? If you mean spend it on someone else, ok, who?
Rock 'n' Roll.

From Sundays Star
Warriors Make Rang Turn"
Wigan won't be making a move for Castleford's England half-back Rangi Chase.
The Warriors are looking for a replacement for Aussie stand off Brett Finch, who is returning home at the end of the season.
But despite speculation this week that Wigan were preparing a bid for the current Man of Steel, reliable sources at the DW Stadium claim they are not interested in him and are looking elsewhere to plug the gap that will be left by Finch.
As far as Castleford are concerned, Chase 26 - who is contracted until the end of 2015, after signing a two year extension to his deal last September - is going nowhere.
They would play hardball for any club wanting to prise Chase away from the PROBIZ Coliseum and are reported to have quoted a fee of £750,000 to Huddersfield who want a replacement for Widnes-bound captain Kevin Brown.
Wigan have already landed Salford scrum half Matty Smith for 2013 as a replacement for Thomas Leuluai.'"

| If he was off contract then he would be worth a punt. But certainly not for the type of money thats being quoted.
I hope Wigan have something else up their sleeve - either a NRL half or Danny Brough who would be the only other Super League half possibly good enough.

re thug, miraculously escaped going to jail down under, always kicking off, as evidenced in the exiles game.
He needs to watch a video of Tommy's greatest hits to prove a small guy can go in hard, (but not dirty) and knock a bigger fellow on his booty. The guy has poor/dirty tackling technique and TBH, he is better than that. Dont know if it is the person, or his game, but suspect the former.

A deal for Danny Brough would require an hefty fee so I don't see the difference.

About half a million difference, at a guess.

| Very talented individual, but for me the current Wigan team's strengths (other than the very impressive amount of channelled aggression) lies in it's cohesion and structure - two words you don't readily associate with Chase.
To be honest, I hope you sign him. For the reason above, but also because he would be VERY easy to hate and there is an annoying lack of players to hate in the current Wigan team. Only Hock really, but I have a soft spot for him for the way he takes it to the Aussies in an England/GB shirt and respect for the way he's returned to the sport and (largely) tempered the nonsense in his game.

| No move for Chase according to Phil Wilkinson in the Evening Post (who usually gets it right). Looking to the NRL for a halfback.

16304_1526976105.jpg [size=100:2md8k3b3][b:2md8k3b3]'Do you remember when we had that meeting in Orlando? We talked about how we were knocked out the previous year by Leeds. And at the end, I asked you one question. "Do you want to be a semi-final team? Or do you want to do something special?" You all said you wanted to win. But talking is easy – it needed you to believe. It needed you to work hard – harder than you had – and make sacrifices. You did all that. you worked for each other. You stuck together when it was tough. And because of your efforts, you sit here tonight as champions. I'm proud of you. Be proud of yourselves. You've done something special.'

Good news. Glad we didn't get dragged into overpaying for Chase. In IL we trust.

frigging hope so. Its a rumour that never really went away and seemed to get drowned out in all the speculation over Chase. Rangi will probably end up at Leeds now.
