| Quote: jonh "What is the situation with Williams and his injury? I haven't seen anything regarding its seriousness or how long he will be out.
Sounded like nothing more than a precautionary reaction to a twinge in his groin on Friday, nothing serious at all.'"
WEP says he'll be fine for the weekend as will Tautai and Sarginson should also be back.
Lockers pretty much ruled out and Mossop didn't do enough (in the game for Workington) to force himself in to the 17 according to Wane.

| Glad there was no appeal.
Looked awful and simply don't see the need for it.
If he wanted to slow up Crabtree playing the ball just hold on to his right arm/wrist and prevent the Hudds prop from putting his hand on the floor to lever himself up.
Every team's done it for years and it's very effective.
Chicken Wing is an awful tactic, no need at all for it.

| I think a ban is fair. I actually think he's lucky to only miss one game as Imo the chicken wing tackle is a very dangerous act. I think that sort of tackle deserves a 4 match ban.
I'm not saying this just because it's a Wigan player as I don't think Smith should have been banned and I was one of the few non Wigan fans that thought Ah Van deserved to be sent off in the Widnes v Wigan game.

| With such a big game coming up there's been a few stupid decisions
1 - Stupid decision from Powell to do it
2 - Stupid decision from Wigan not to appeal it. An appeal could have added an extra game onto the suspension but if successful he would have been clear to play in the Brisbane game. IMO that's a gamble worth taking and as as it stands Hampshire or Williams will now end up playing vs Brisbane and avoiding a complete disaster on their part they will probably play the game following it as well.

Struggling to see the logic here. Why would you appeal when you acknowledge he's guilty? Why would it be worth the gamble when the evidence is clear cut? The fact that a big game is coming up has nothing to do with it.
Besides, Powell can hardly claim to be streets ahead of Williams or Hampshire in the pecking order.

The big game has everything to do with it at. If Williams is injured then we only have one option for 6 in Hampshire. It's thin ice to say the least.
You'd at least try to get some reinforcements available. If the appeal is unsuccessful and he gets another game then so be it, at least we've rolled the dice.

I notice Hock's been at it again though. 2 separate charges - do they add them together or run concurrently?'"
BBC website says 6 games, 3 for each offence. Assume that to mean he misses 6, not 3
