I hope we rest the bulk of the team next week they look if not physically emotionally drained. A week off will freshen them up.'"
I said to my dad after the game if I were Maguire I'd tell the lads I'd see them in the morning for a warm down and then after that I'd want them resting until Thursday. Give them a couple of days off to mentally recharge and start again on Thursday. I'd give 5 or 6 of them the night off on Friday and by the first round of the play offs they should be fresh as daisys.
Guys like Coley, Prescott, Hansen and Lockers look shot today but it won't take much to get them right.

| Strange seeing the comments about you were never going to win this game.
Plently on here was confident days ago Wigan's fitness and squad would cope and win today for a treble that MM wants.

How did Wire do the 2 games after winning the CC final. I remember you losing last season in Catalan what did you do the season before.

39110_1363272058.jpg Dropkick Murphy..we actually saw and heard a mass of bouncing and scarf and flag waving to Dale Cavese that drowned out anything we could muster.. It stopped us singing our own celebratory songs, it died out seconds later when we accepted we couldn't be heard over the Wigan lot
Celebrations muted from us, job done from them. Most fans who slag them off are jealous their own club's support is nowhere near that good

sally cinnamon..Why not discuss Wigan? It's a rugby league message board. Wigan are the most famous brand in rugby league
-
Tre Cool..Saints fans are hopeless unless it's a cup final or grand final. Wigan fans are so much more loyal and passionate
-
the flying biscuit..Wires havent been massively succesful over the years, but I've spoke to Brian Bevan And he spoke to me and i wouldnt swap that for Wigans History, ever

Ande..on the TV i could only hear the Wigan fans with about 10 to go

| Losing today is no disgrace. I am just disapointed with how much we gifted them.
It would have been a close game had we not gifted them tries.
Tries like Hansen popping the ball out for no reason and them scoring just hardly ever happen. Nothing went for us today.

Was very much like the Cup game.
Wasn't our best game like Smith said but we do have bodies to add to the side and sometimes you can be a little cold from a week off.

| I think out classed is the wrong word. The better team obviously won but Wire didn't have to do much to gain the majority of their points. A turning point could have been when Tomkins found touch with a pass. Instead of 18 - 6 it became 24 -0.

Tony Smith alluded to it after the game. It is all about how a team starts in Rugby League. When we beat you in the cup we raced into a 22-0 lead, which in fairness you put yourselves in a position to come back into the game, but it was a too tougher task. Similar thing happened today, but just the other way round. Both Wigan and Warrington blow the opposition away in the opening 20 minutes. When they collide it can be just the bounce of a ball (error from the kick off) that can make all the difference.

the score could easily have been much bigger... you had 2-3 chances in the whole game.. and tomkins threw 2 of those away...nothing wrong with atkins try as well.
the turning point was deffo tomkins throwing a pass into joels ankles though.
you never got over that mistake and we pushed on from there... you could see wigan deflate after that.

when we got a big lead up today phil Clarke said 'its a wigan-esque' display from warrington........ and that was a big joke to us Warrington fans... because we have won loads of our games by blowing teams away in the first 20 mins all season.

Warrington led 16-2 in Saturday's Grand Final, but their joy was short-lived as Wigan roared back to win the Super League title and extend the Wire's 58-year wait to be champions:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_10174.png |

In that case we might as well forget the Play-Off finals and hand the trophy to Warrington today.
Warrington played well and IMO deserve to beat Hull on Friday and finish top of the pile but we constantly hear hot air from Wire fans season in season out ... lets see if you can deliver in the play-offs for once ... after all you must be favourites given your comments

In what way do they deserve to beat Hull?
If Hull play well and get more points than wire, will wire still deserve to win

Understandably I've not watched the game again (aside from the Gaz Hock incident and to hear Tony Smith's comments). Both teams are in the habit of doing it and both teams are very good at it. One difference between the two sides is Warrington's ability to keep up that consistency over 80 minutes and rack up a big score. Wigan haven't been able to manage it and tend to go into odd little 10/15 minute spells where we let the opposition back in it. That's where I have to be honest and say Warrington deserve the League Leaders Shield.
