Quote: WARRIORCRAIG "What are the minimum and maximums for pitch length and width? I'm sure there isn't a 9m discrepancy between them!?'"
The minimum are as follows:
minimum playing requirements are:
(a) a clear playing area of not less than 88 metres from goal line to goal line and 55 metres
from touch line to touch line;
(b) that the dead ball line shall be not less than 6 metres nor more than 11 metres behind
the goal line;
Taken from the operational rules, here:
rfllive.dyndns.org/~rflmedia/doc ... 0Guide.pdf
Edit: Almost 300 pages later in that document, it does mention maximums:
Playing area: Minimum 88m by 55m; Maximum 100m by 68m

| Quote: Pemps "Interestingly Wembley's pitch is 9m wider and 5m shorter than ours.
That is all.'"
In a way it gives Sam far more room to find the gaps, normally all he needs is a yard and he can exploit any gaps with devastating effect.
On the negative side it is like Cherry says,if the Wigan defence dos'nt slide to the right(not bothered about the left) they will be found out.
The worry is Deacon on a wide pitch he is just so slow in defence,as was seen against the Wire in the quarter final.
A major plus is that Hanson will be in,if he had been banned Wigan could have been in trouble on that side.
Hopefully Sam will be able to exploit the Wembley pitch more than Leeds.

| The wembley pitch no matter what size will belong to the Wigan Warriors this saturday, only right everyones talking about Sam Tomkins he's a superstar but i expect Brett Finch to have a massive game after being rested last week, i will be watching the match in good owd featherstone and cheering the cherry n whites on to victory, good luck to the many thousands of traveling Warriors fans and the great town of Wigan, have a great day and be safe and lets get them Rhino's smashed of the pitch! UP THE WARRIORS

39110_1363272058.jpg Dropkick Murphy..we actually saw and heard a mass of bouncing and scarf and flag waving to Dale Cavese that drowned out anything we could muster.. It stopped us singing our own celebratory songs, it died out seconds later when we accepted we couldn't be heard over the Wigan lot
Celebrations muted from us, job done from them. Most fans who slag them off are jealous their own club's support is nowhere near that good
-
sally cinnamon..Why not discuss Wigan? It's a rugby league message board. Wigan are the most famous brand in rugby league
-
Tre Cool..Saints fans are hopeless unless it's a cup final or grand final. Wigan fans are so much more loyal and passionate
-
the flying biscuit..Wires havent been massively succesful over the years, but I've spoke to Brian Bevan And he spoke to me and i wouldnt swap that for Wigans History, ever
-
Ande..on the TV i could only hear the Wigan fans with about 10 to go
-
Saint94..Every team is in your feckin shadow, we all know

| Our sliding defence is class. We will benefit more fomr a wider pitch.

| Quote: - Neil - "My only issue is Joel and Josh's wing as our defence is a bit dodgy down that side at times. Also if Hock plays it could be an issue as well but I think he will go with Farrell.'"
To be fare to them 2 ,they have worked hard last 2 games in defence and the trys have been scored on pat and carmonts side . I just hope they can keep it up im show they would of been drilled this week on the out wide defence
